As a child I wanted to have blue eyes and blonde hair like the majority of my class mates and my mum. Just a couple of weeks ago my handsome little 7 year old nephew said he wants brown eyes because his baby brother does, me and my sister told him blue eyes are beautiful, they look like the sky and the sea. This is why teaching representation across cultures is so important for children to grow up loving themselves. Remind the children how loved they are for their uniqueness despite what they think is appealing or more loveable, stop comparing your features to someone else’s. Another’s beauty does not diminish your own 🙏🏽💖 by @goddess_ashah

Self-love is the best love. It’s great to adorn ourselves on the outside with makeup, accessories, beautiful garments but what makes it special is embodiment, you can feel that there is beauty skin deep, it’s not just surface level, self-love isn’t pretty dresses although I love a pretty dress, it’s loving your totality - mind, body and spirit. Minding my business on this sacred Sunday with some harp music fit for a Goddess and her relaxing kitties after a 6am walk by the river and a slow day, a regulated nervous system, feeling calm and whimsy about to eat her late lunch of creamy tahini, veggie udon noodles with lots of chilli crisp.

The girls had me up at 4am again after yesterday morning chasing a moth and Destiny growling at the moth in her mouth lolll, I managed to free the moth still alive with slightly tethered wings.
