hola gnomos! 🧙‍♂️ we are nearing the end stages of of the cob phase of our casita 🛖 and what a journey it has been! @godfresb has single-handedly moved over 40,000 lbs of sand, straw, and clay to create the masterpiece we see today💪🏼🤯 along the way he’s with experimented and developed additives to the cob, like the cactus goop yall saw in our previous reels for improved texture and workability, and natural sheep’s wool for better insulation in drafty areas. even in its current state, you can feel the cooling effects of the cob already! and in the texas heat a 10-15 degree difference is a godsend 🥵 next steps are finalizing our sculptural elements, and weatherproofing by sealing everything (inside and out) with natural hydraulic lime. also…we haven’t even started the greenhouse yet…that’s when things are gonna get even more fun 🤩 we’ve been thinking about hosting some cob and permaculture workshops this fall! is that something yall would be interested in? let us know! we want to make this knowledge accessible and be a resource to anyone looking to explore gnomo-living 🩵 taken in Austin, Texas by @godfresb

. . . la mamá de La mamá de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá, de La mamá… the moment you realize the stars really are your ancestors and their light still sees you by @godfresb

@godfresb takes his sticky goop and shows us what it looks like once it’s been applied to the @texasarchedcabins frame. because cob acts as a natural insulant, we are able to remove the insulation where the cob will be, and use the solar heat generated from the galvanized steel roof to help “bake” the cob. pretty cool! 😎 taken in Austin, Texas by @godfresb

@godfresb showing us how he has modified his cob mixture by adding in a “goop soup” that makes it compatible with natural hydraulic lime. by using a mixture of fermented cactus + clay + vegetable glycerin + borax + washing soda + chia seeds + castille soap, he’s able to increase the sticky quality of the cob for better adhesion to our @texasarchedcabins frame AND improve the molecular compatibility with clay and lime. #gnomesinSTEM taken in Austin, Texas by @godfresb

What if the infinite, the perfect, and complete guides the finite, flawed and half baked not to protect but to reveal its own fertility? For in the asymmetrical there becomes 2 perfections… and the infinite requires the finite for its own completion by @godfresb

it’s been a little over a year since @godfresb and i started our tiny cob home! and im finally getting around to posting just a small fraction of what has happened during that time 🤣 for those unfamiliar with cob, it is a natural building process that uses a mixture of dirt, clay, sand and straw to create a structure that is well insulated and able to last for hundreds of years. we chose this method because it honored our love for nature and desire to integrate ourselves into it as much as possible 🌿 this is our first time building a home or doing anything with cob, and it’s been one of the most exciting (and challenging!) things we’ve ever decided to do. @godfresb has built 99% of this home with his bare hands and it’s been one of the most awe inspiring things i’ve ever witnessed! we love a creative man with such an incredible ability to turn his vision into reality 🥹 if anyone ever wants to come play in the dirt and learn about cob, just send us a DM 🫶🏼 this is just the beginning of our journey toward self sustainability and community oriented living that breaks our dependency on corporations and reconnects us back to our sacred relationship with nature 🩵 #somosgnomos taken in Austin, Texas Y'all by @godfresb

A pattern made from its own pattern never ends up being the same pattern…….. I’m posting this because I forgot the technique I used to make this design 🤷🏽‍♂️ And the more I try to recreate it I just find other ways of doing it but it’s never the same…. Oh well. Who knows maybe creativity means not relying on your memory ? #sacredgeometry #memoryofamemory #ismyfriend by @godfresb

The Emerald Lion Connection with nature overcomes the illusion of the individual. This depiction of the Strength card in Tarot incorporates the symbol of the Green Lion in alchemy (depicted by unknown artist last slide) The Green Lion usually depicted eating the sun, symbolizes the process by which vital life force energy dissolves the self. This process is facilitated through lived experience that serves to sever us from our false identities. I’ve definitely felt this force at work to dissolve any identity I’ve claimed…As a good person, I’ve been branded a felon. As a business man I was eaten by social distancing. As a martial artist who sought to control, I was the controlled... Because life finds the cling or clinch to be, repugnant. So what is left when all false identity fades? The infinite light/darkness, seen and unseen, unbound by time and space. But in order for this true identity to manifest the temporally bound self must do the hardest thing we can do… Let go and 👁️ that true strength lies within the softness of your ♥️ Love you 1 down 77 to go #tarot #alchemy #emotionalalchemy #greenlion #symbolism #noself #nonduality #visionaryart #sacredgeometry #letgo #besoft #cryinglion #tearsofjoy #art #findout #geometrictears #desolve #thesoulution #shestandsinfinit #groundedinfinit taken in Austin, Texas by @godfresb
