Funny how time feels most important once some of it has passed.

If you’ve been around here for a while, you’ll probably remember that none of this started with an FX30.

It started with a @sonyalpha a6000 and the little kit lens it came with.

Back then, autofocus wasn’t something I could rely on, so setting up a shot meant balancing a broom, or a box with a helmet on top, where I’d be standing, manually focusing, then trying my absolute best not to move. 😂

For audio, I’d plug a lav mic into my iPhone 6s, hit record on the Voice Memos app, then sync everything by hand afterwards.

It wasn’t pretty.

But it worked.

Eventually came the @sonycine FX30 and the @sigmaphoto 18–50mm.

Autofocus changed the way I shoot.

Being able to plug my mic straight into the camera changed the way I work.

Instead of thinking about the camera, I could finally think about the story.

Since then, this little combo has gone everywhere with me. It’s captured products, everyday moments, trips, late nights in the studio, and most of the photos and videos you’ve seen on this page over the past year.

Sometimes I still stop and think about it.

Younger me would’ve thought buying this camera was one of those “one day” dreams.

Turns out, one day eventually arrives 🙏🏾

Grateful I get to see the world through this little camera. by @godosvisuals

Most moments don’t feel important while they’re happening.

But maybe that’s why they’re worth noticing.

Because most of our lives are made up of millions of tiny moments.

I’ve always liked products that do more with less.

The Trackable Wallet by @moft.global is a nice example of that.

Wallet.
Stand.
Tripod.
Tracker.

All quietly folded into one object.

Thought it deserved a closer look. by @godosvisuals

There are certain objects that quietly become witnesses to your life.

They aren’t always the most expensive things you own.

Most people probably wouldn’t even notice them.

But somehow, they’re always there.

The camera that’s seen every project.

The notebook slowly filling up with ideas.

The mug that’s survived hundreds of mornings at the desk.

Over time, they stop feeling like things you own.

They just become part of your life.

I think that’s part of what I’ve always loved about watches.

And mechanical watches especially.

You wind one in the morning.

Put it on your wrist.

And then, for the most part, forget about it.

But it’s there.

For the work.

The conversations.

The celebrations.

The completely ordinary Tuesdays.

The places you go.

The people you spend your days with.

The different versions of yourself you slowly become.

Years from now, someone could look at a watch like this and only see metal and leather.

But you might see something completely different.

The places you wore it.

The things you were building.

The people who were there.

The ordinary days that, without you realising it, became the ones worth remembering.

I think there’s something beautiful about that.

When I first put on the Noir from @thirtythreeglobal that’s what I found myself thinking about.

Not just the time it tells.

But all the time it gets to quietly spend with you. by @godosvisuals

I’ve realised I naturally frame life this way.

Little moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Maybe that’s why I love making films.

They’re just ordinary days, looked at a little more intentionally. by @godosvisuals

I’ve always liked the idea that the best things quietly become part of your day.

The camera I use.

The jumper I subconsciously always reach for.

The notebook that’s slowly filling up.

And now, this.

Along for whatever the day brings. by @godosvisuals

Grids have always been one of my best friends :)

I have them on everywhere.

Phone.
Camera.
All softwares I use for work.

I think if there was a toggle to have them in real life I would :)

Okay, enough about my love for lines.

Here are some shots… With lines 😁

Okay I’ve gone now.

I remember the first watch my dad ever bought me.

I can’t remember exactly how old I was.

Or even what brand it was, if I’m being honest.

But I remember how it made me feel.

At that age, wearing a watch felt like such a grown-up thing to do. Almost like my dad had introduced me to this small piece of his world and trusted me to carry it, you know?

I think that’s where this quiet love for watches began.

And specifically, analog watches.

There’s just something beautiful about them.

The hands moving slowly around the dial.
The tiny details you only notice when you look closer.
The idea that this little object can stay with you through entire seasons of your life.

For the longest time, I think I loved watches because they made time feel like something I could hold.

Something I could measure.

Maybe even something I could control.

Or at least, that’s what I thought.

But the older I get, the more I realise they do the exact opposite.

A watch is a quiet reminder that time is always moving.

Even when we aren’t paying attention.

And maybe that’s what makes watches feel so personal.

They collect little pieces of a life.

The places you wore them.
The people you spent your days with.
The moments you wish you could return to.

And one day, you may even get to pass one down to someone you love.

Not just as an object, but as something that was there while you lived.

When I first put on this Cognac watch from @thirtythreeglobal I found myself thinking about that first watch from my dad.

Not because they looked alike.

But because it reminded me of what a watch can hold.

Time, yes.

But also memory.
Presence.
People.

Time might be one of the most finite things we’ll ever have.

Maybe that’s why we keep finding beautiful ways to carry it with us. by @godosvisuals

Most wallets carry your cards.

This one carries a few extra ideas.

Been using the Trackable Wallet from @moft.global lately and appreciating how much functionality they’ve managed to fit into something this simple.

Thought I’d share a few details I found interesting. by @godosvisuals
