Arte y Pasion is honored to announce their performance and proclamation of “San Antonio Month of Flamenco.” The proclamation ceremony and performance, “Silk Road,” will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 8 2026, at the Yanaguana Gardens of Hemisfair Park, 434 South Alamo, San Antonio, Texas.

The ceremony and performance is a nod to the weaving of cultures and textures echoed by the Silk Road, whose trade routes connected the East to the West and touched countries such as Spain, India, and Mexico. With the trade of textiles, spices, art, and gold came the trade of cultures, music, language and movement. This coming together of artists for San Antonio Month of Flamenco honors the cultural confluence that came into fruition because of the Silk Road, and the culmination of a full day celebration of flamenco dance and music, themed “The Roads that Lead to Us.”

Flamenco artists have played a distinct role in building San Antonio’s cultural fabric for almost a century, and we are honored to continue to contribute to the artistic infrastructure and trajectory of San Antonio. For the event, please visit https://fb.me/e/4Q75lpdRO. For more information on WeFlamenco Fest, please visit https://www.facebook.com/WeFlamencoFest and http://weflamencofest.org/.  For more information on Arte y Pasion, please visit https://www.arte-y-pasion.com. The ceremony and performance is a WeFlamenco Fest event and is made possible in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts, City of San Antonio, WeFlamenco Fest, Carmens de la Calle, Heritage Festivals of San Antonio, and Hemisfair Park. This event is free to the public.

Arte y Pasión, in conjunction with the Beacon at Midtown Gallery & Studios, is delighted to present WILD LIFE. The one-time performance in San Antonio will take place at 7:30 pm on Thursday November 12 2026 at the Beacon Midtown Theater at 1136 W. Woodlawn Avenue, San Antonio TX 78201.
The program is a series of lush vignettes in traditional and contemporary flamenco, that tells the story of the wisdom of the animal kingdom. We underestimate our animal friends; and because of our ignorance, they possess a freedom that we do not. They live alongside us, but even as their lives are affected by ours, they watch us and judge us.
The company is Tamara Adira, Genevieve Obregon, Jose Manuel Tejeda, and Celia Corrales, with special guest Melissa Cruz. Members of the audience are invited to dress as your favorite animal.  Following the performance, dancers throughout the community are invited to dance with us. There is a bar and a little celebration. Social hour is 7:30 pm, curtain is 8:00 pm.
For more information on Arte y Pasion, please visit https://www.arte-y-pasion.com. For more information on the event, visit https://fb.me/e/4OzX2nyiS. For more information on the Beacon at Midtown, visit https://www.facebook.com/p/The-Beacon-at-Midtown-61574192342713/.  The performance is made possible in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts. Tickets can be found on Ticketleap at  https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/arteypasion/arte-y-pasion-wild-life. Student, Military and Senior rates available. Link to tickets in bio. 🦅🐺❤️

A quien no le encanta una falseta buena???
Saturday: All my life I’ve been what they call a “highly sensitive person” and I’m telling you— the elegance of a butterfly, the kindness of strangers, and almost always gooorgeous music just hits me in my soul differently.
Took everything not to weep at the absolute beauty of my friend @josetejedaguitar’s Tientos falseta.
Art is essential, reminding us of the simple treasure that is being alive to witness with our senses the gifts of the world around us and to create what we can.
Please enjoy and I’m really sorry Jose is out of frame. Ole tu!!!! 👏🏽 🎸 🎶 ✨

Last night we performed at a dual birthday party for a father and son, one turning 88! The elder gave us the most heartwarming real-time review sharing with us that our performance made him “glad to be alive!” 🥹
What? Is this real life? Do we really get to do what we love with people we respect and enjoy AND receive such kind words?
More than ever, recent events have shown us all what a gift it is just to be able to breathe air into our lungs and slowly exhale, feel the sunshine on our faces and smile, enjoy a slice of German chocolate cake, be with our friends and family sharing a laugh or a hug, or simply sitting and listening to some lovely flamenco music played on the harp!
Happy Sunday, don’t get too caught up in the hustle, demands, and stresses of the day. Take time for some delicious enjoyment of this singular life. 🪉❤️✨🥹 by @goflamenca

I can remember when I first got to Austin in 2016 living on the East side Atash just seemed like such a staple and I was introduced to their music right away. I was drawn in immediately, it didn’t matter that I had no idea what the words of the songs were— this music was universal.
You could go to a show at Sahara, Flamingo, One to One Bar, or Esquina Tango and just be blown away by this something unnameable they had when they hit the stage.
Their music made tangible shifts in the crowd, people began to dance, smile, laugh, feel a perceptible sense of unity. I remember I even once convinced my parents to come to a show at Sahara because I kept raving about the atmosphere they created and this feeling of transcendence. Ecstatic dancing together is honestly a core memory now.
I thank them all for their gift of uplifting the moods and minds of their audiences.. gosh, imagine my delight after all the times I spent blasting “Everything is Music” from my tiny Fiat when I was eventually able to work with them. I didn’t know Roberto well, but he would show up and make everything more beautiful, more polished, more serene, and inspiring.
Art is eternal and I’m glad that so many people across Texas and the world have memories of dancing to, transforming their mindsets, and feeling uplifted from the inside out by the music and message that Roberto was a part of.
Sending so much love to his family, friends, and the arts community right now. We will never forget the beautiful artist and person you are! Thank you for your gifts to the world 🕊️✨🎶🎻 by @goflamenca

I can’t believe it’s nearly October and so much of the year has gone by. While I’m excited for sweater weather, it’s bittersweet that time keeps blasting by at warp speed. Here’s a happy memory from the Spring to fend off the Sunday scaries.
This was a delightful day because my niece got to experience Flamenco for the first time and appreciated it. I was glad to have some time away from home in Dallas as my Ziggy 🐶 had just passed and everything in the house reminded me of him and the struggles of his last few weeks. Preparing this piece for this show kept my mind off of the sadness and refocused on channeling the happy times we spent together on the seawalk and at the beach all those years ago in Galveston. As always flamenco is my medicine, I’m sure you all can relate 💙💙💙

Facebook reminded me that this was FIVE years ago, what seriously GOOOOD times!!!
A reminder of how worldly things ebb and flow, move up and down and sometimes you just gotta smile, roll with it, and keep dancing.
More than ever, closing one door leads to five open doors with destinations and plans sometimes even bigger and brighter than you could have expected or imagined.
So, friends, don’t sweat the small stuff— no matter your goals, stay patient, stay consistent, stay focused. The path is not linear for a reason, there are lessons and side missions and self discoveries and beautiful alignment awaiting you if you quiet your doubts enough to actually receive the messages and opportunities that are meant for you 🧘🏻‍♀️💕✨
