There are nights when we leave the cameras behind for a minute, look at each other across the table, & quietly say, “Okay…this is really special.”That was this evening at @coyotecafeandcantina We experienced the new prix fixe tasting menu together, & it felt like the kind of dinner that’s becoming harder to find—one where every course arrives with purpose, each plate surprises you in a different way, & you’re never quite ready for the next one because you’re still talking about the last.The evening begins with Coyote’s signature cornbread and butters before moving into a beautifully paced progression of seasonal dishes, including Morita-Citrus White Prawns, followed by your choice of entrée—either the Tellicherry Peppered Elk Tenderloin or Grilled Maine Lobster Tails - before ending on a sweet note with the Sweet Corn Flan. Along the way, the new seasonal cocktails and mocktails are every bit as exciting as the food, making each course feel even more memorable. And the optional wine pairings are superb! ( if you are vegetarian or vegan or have any other dietary restrictions -let the team know) It’s thoughtful without feeling precious, refined without trying too hard, & exactly the kind of experience that reminds us why we love sharing meals like this.If you’re celebrating something—or simply want an excuse to gather around a truly exceptional table—we can’t recommend this experience enough.We’ll definitely be dreaming about this one for a while.#CoyoteCafe #TastingMenu #TheCityDifferent #Hospitality #FineDining by @gofrenchyourself

A rich life looks like this. Celebrating around a table with friends, enjoying incredible food without rushing through the moments.We gathered at @santacafesantafe to celebrate @cherylisexcitedaboutfood who, as thoughtful as ever, arrived with fresh eggs from her French chickens for each of us.We enjoyed a welcome toast before sipping on the Hibiscus Mocktail and the Caballero cocktail. Then we ordered a few SantaCafé classics, including the Maine lobster roll, @margarita_lujan63 “Maggie’s”pasta, and the carne asada taco special.One of the highlights of the afternoon was experiencing @chefelkady new dinner menu. He treated us to his bitter greens with apples, pistachios, Point Reyes blue cheese, celery, fennel, and shallots; burrata with cured olives, dill, cucumber, garlic bread crumble, and mole seco; hamachi crudo with melon, jalapeño, basil, coriander, and aguachile; and beautifully charred octopus with gigante beans, pizzutello tomatoes, Castelvetrano olives, and fresh herbs.Pastry Chef @mirnalromero0117 finished the afternoon with two beautiful desserts: a poached pear filled with white chocolate mousse and a decadent chocolate dessert with a chocolate cookie crust, banana ice cream, and caramelized banana.It was a rich afternoon, filled with good friends, delicious food, the creativity of talented chefs, and the kind of lunch that makes you lose track of time.Happy Birthday, Cheryl. 🤍🥂 by @gofrenchyourself

@moderngeneralfeedandseed has a way of making you order for the table instead of yourself.One person wants something savory. Someone else insists on something sweet. Nobody can decide, so everyone shares.As a photographer, that’s the kind of table I love most. Of course I’ll make time for the hero shot, but I’m just as interested in everything that surrounds it—the layers, the colors, the movement, the way a meal unfolds, and how a place reveals its personality through the details.The photographs I leave with aren’t just about what was served. Sundays are for slowing the pace.Sauce simmering on the stove. Ricotta whipped with herbs until impossibly light. Pasta shells waiting to be filled. A drizzle of olive oil that deserves its own moment. Asparagus roasted until the tips begin to crisp.Henry, of course, supervising every step from his post beside the counter, convinced this entire operation is for him.Apron on, Charlie Parker playing, and nowhere else I needed to be.Some people measure a weekend by how much they accomplish. I measure mine by a pan of stuffed shells fresh from the oven, a kitchen that smells like garlic, herbs, and tomatoes, and the kind of evening that reminds you home can be the nicest place to spend a Sunday.My favorite apron is from @oldiesflowerco, and these hand towels from @sabahar are my newest kitchen must have. And for everyone who messages me about our stone every time it sneaks into a photo—it’s from @ariastonegallery in Dallas. I love that you all notice the little details as much as I do. You really just have to feel this leathered marble to understand my obsession #PastaNight by @gofrenchyourself

This morning, Rodge & I finally made it over to @505chicknegg , the newest concept from Chef Enrique Guerrero, the culinary force behind the award-winning @bang_bite One of my favorite parts of my day is getting to know the people behind the restaurants, & Enrique’s story is one worth hearing. His career has taken him through some of the country’s most celebrated kitchens before ultimately deciding to build something that reflected his own vision. Rather than chasing another fine dining dining room, he chose to create a place where exceptional food, genuine hospitality, & community could all come together in a more personal way.Spending the morning talking with Enrique made breakfast even more meaningful. His enthusiasm for this new venture is contagious, & it’s clear that every detail has been thoughtfully considered. From the house-made Japanese milk buns to the scratch-made recipes throughout the menu, this is comfort food backed by decades of culinary experience.Our breakfast sandwiches and burritos and sweet potato fries were exceptional—beautifully prepared, full of flavor, & the perfect reminder that great cooking isn’t defined by white tablecloths. It’s defined by the person behind the food.One detail I especially loved is that Chicken or the Egg sits right next to @bitcoffee_santafe , making it easy to grab a beautifully crafted coffee or specialty drink to enjoy with your breakfast or lunch. The shaded picnic tables tucked behind the truck make it the kind of place you’ll want to settle into rather than rush away from.Congratulations, Enrique, on another exciting chapter. I have no doubt Chicken or the Egg will become one of those places people discover once & find themselves returning to again and again. Birthday Boy Weekend has officially begun.We kicked things off with one of our favorite Thai spots @chaiyo_eldo then hit @heysweetcream for dessert & an ice cream cake that will happily carry us through the weekend.Greatest mail day ever too! A few things I’d been eagerly waiting for finally arrived. The Gothic Gala accessories have officially started making their entrance. The lace opera gloves are exactly as dramatic as I’d hoped, but the silk scarf completely stole the show. It cascades down my back in a sweeping train that feels somewhere between Old Hollywood glamour & gothic romance. It’s clearly planning to make its entrance before I do, & honestly, that’s exactly what I was hoping for.I also added a beautiful new oyster book to my collection, an oyster knife that somehow brought me an unreasonable amount of joy, & a box of strawberry Pocky because some favorites never lose their appeal.I spent the day repping my favorite Peacemaker tee, admired a few new arrivals, & ended the evening exactly the way I like to—with a horror movie on, dessert waiting in the freezer, & the quiet excitement that comes with knowing the weekend has only just begun.I’ve realized my favorite weekends aren’t built around packed schedules. They’re a collection of good meals, thoughtful deliveries, books that inspire, little traditions that never get old, & celebrating the people you love. This one feels like it’s off to a pretty wonderful start. by @gofrenchyourself

Sometimes the best afternoons are the simplest ones.A few slices from Bruno’s, an ice-cold prickly pear slushy, blues drifting through the speakers, & a New Mexico monsoon threatening in the distance.I’d do this again tomorrow.
