I grew up watching the Sun set over the Adams 12 Five Star Stadium, where I represented Thornton on the track just like my brothers before. I served our neighbors at the Jimmy John's off 96th and Washington for nearly 10 years, and I've biked every trail, every bad sidewalk, and every road here. This win is about representing the people and the community that made me, the community I love.

I'm beyond honored to know that our community decided to put their faith into us and into each other and together, we will ban corporations from buying up all our homes, make sure they can't dump money into elections, and we WILL put ICE agents in jail.

We just pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the state of Colorado, I'm proud to call Thornton my home, and I want to thank each and every one of you for making this a reality.

In 2016, I was enthralled with a man whom in the middle of a speech, a bird landed on his podium. 4 years later, I voted for him in my first primary election and made my first-ever political donation to him.

Colorado needs your help to get a Graduated Income Tax! Today we gathered with lawmakers, community organizers, and volunteers to get a ballot initiative to Novembers election. This November, voters could have an opportunity to vote on a graduated income tax for Colorado. This means that if you make less than $500k a year you will get a tax cut and the small 3% that makes more tha $500k will get a tax increase! With this tax change Colorado will raise between $2 and $3 billion that will go directly to healthcare, child care, and K-12 public schools!

Let’s GIT IT On the Ballot! It’s time Colorado updates its tax code to a graduated income tax. Colorado’s budget is terrible because the wealthy don’t pay their fair share leading to underfunded schools, out of reach child care and bank breaking healthcare costs. The @thecoloradosun caught wind of the data & they are letting our voters see for themselves: who is being funded to fight against workers & who is appropriating our progressive language to manipulate voters.

The union based donors & our soft side progressive orgs are stepping up - that’s who you should be supporting too.

Not much more pisses me off than manipulating my working class voters (like using the word progressive to hide what they are against).
