Some days are hard... really hard. But you have to continue to believe in yourself. One mile at a time.

Warning: another ugly running pic. Listen: some days are hard. Here I am, I have a plan, I'm ready to run. I'm fueled, hydrated, dressed, got my shoes on, got my music ready, then something happens or comes up that I need to address. Afterward I'm no longer motivated, so I need to find a way to force myself to move. After I contemplate all of the "if I do..." "after I do..." "if I don't... (fill in the blanks) scenarios, I get up and hit the treadmill for a 5 mile run. As predicted, after it's done, I'm glad I did it. Did you move today?? #ugly #motivation #treadmill #doit #halloween by @going_for_a_run

Question for runners: Have any of you run these events? If so, what are your takeaways?? I'm considering these as part of the 2027 running season. What events are you planning or considering running??

Half Marathon followup: I forgot to post my opinion of the items I used for my recent half marathon, so here goes. Saucony Ride 19 shoes were comfortable with nice cushion & wide toebox. A huge plus for me was no blisters! (I also wear injinji toe socks) Mokura vest was very comfortable, lightweight & enough pockets to carry all the essentials. UCAN gel, Honey Stinger gel & GU gel all had acceptable taste, good texture & no stomach upset. #saucony #ucan #honeystinger #gu #running by @going_for_a_run

Who's the killer??!! As a true crime fan, when I saw these books all over the internet, I was intrigued. No we are not investigating a real crime, no we are not solving a true murder. But it's a fun way to spend some time instead of doom scrolling, completely zoning out or getting caught up in hours of reality TV shows. Although I'm guilty of doing all of the above. Anyone else into these books?? #truecrimeaddict #booksbooksbooks #thekillers #solve #fun by @going_for_a_run

Got my run in early since it's 'Trunk or Treat' at Isika's school this evening. 10k run in 1 hour 8 minutes... not fast at all , but a slow mile is better than no mile!

I can't remember exactly when it started, but my oldest brother & I have an ongoing joke/contest to see who puts up their Christmas tree first every year. Well... I received a voicemail yesterday and he won again this year. 🎅 🎄🎄🏆 Well done brother!

Yesterday I raked & mowed Mom's yard and of course today everything is covered in leaves again. 🙄 Today I fixed a chicken ceasar salad for lunch and got out for a hump day 5 mile walk in the sunshine. What a nice surprise to have a couple of 70 degree days this week!

Getting back to eating my salad lunches. Yesterday I had a steak salad, today I'm having a salad with crab meat & tomorrow I will make a salad with rotisserie chicken. Yum!! #salad #lunchtime🍴 #healthyeating #whatsforlunch #imhungry by @going_for_a_run
