Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to boil eggs to perfection:
Place eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a saucepan or pot.
Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by about an inch.
Place the pot on the stovetop and turn the heat to high.
Bring the water to a boil. You’ll know it’s boiling when you see big bubbles rising to the surface.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer (medium-low heat).
Let the eggs cook for the desired time:
3-4 minutes for soft-boiled eggs (runny yolks)
5-6 minutes for medium-boiled eggs (slightly firmer yolks)
8-10 minutes for hard-boiled eggs (fully set yolks)
Remove the pot from the heat and immediately transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
Let the eggs sit in the ice water for 5-10 minutes to cool down.
Crack the eggs gently and peel off the shells.
Enjoy your perfectly boiled eggs!
Tips:
Use older eggs, as they are easier to peel.
Shocking the eggs in ice water helps stop the cooking process and makes them easier to peel.
Let the eggs cool completely before refrigerating or using them in recipes.
Now, go forth and boil those eggs like a pro! by @gojo_ftw
