Whether restoring a country house, combining apartments on the Upper East Side, or transforming a Brooklyn limestone townhouse, Gold Collective member Atelier Armbruster creates spaces that feel as though they could belong nowhere else.

The ability to honor the history of a place while remaining deeply attuned to the livability required for contemporary life is a craft in itself. Founded in 2010 by Yaiza Armbruster, Atelier Armbruster is a New York–based architecture and interior design firm creating finely crafted residential and commercial spaces shaped by a distinctly global perspective. With an international team and European-inflected sensibility, the firm brings together exquisite craftsmanship, contemporary design, and a commitment to ecological and historical conservation across its portfolio.

“The most enduring spaces bring the way you aspire to live into conversation with the realities of site and structure, allowing craftsmanship, context, and contemporary life to coexist with ease,” says Armbruster.

The firm’s considered, hands-on approach ensures that every project is both true to its setting and precisely attuned to the people who inhabit it—from the earliest walk-through to the final placement of art.

Don't let the "guest house" status fool you. For Gold Collective member Leverone Design, designing a secondary structure is an opportunity to push a client's sensibility to more playful, uninhibited heights — and more often than not, it becomes their favorite place on the property.

Their Maui Island Guest House is a case in point. A @cahomeanddesign 2026 Design Award winner featured in the print issue for Vacation Home Design, the project sits adjacent to @leveronedesign's earlier Maui Refuge, sharing its DNA, but freer in spirit. Matthew Leverone notes in the feature with a laugh, "Whenever I FaceTime the client, she's always in that building."

There is no shortcut to the kind of trust that earns a client's most significant transaction. It is built thoughtfully, over years, through expertise, discretion, and an unwavering commitment to doing the work well.

Gold Collective member Neal Ward has been ranked the number one real estate agent in San Francisco (again) by @realtrendsinc, as well as #3 for @compass nationally and #35 in the nation. It's a distinction that reflects not just volume, but the depth of confidence his clients place in him year after year.

San Francisco is famously one of the most complex and competitive real estate markets in the country, and this recognition speaks to the work ethic and client commitment that have defined his career.

The best architecture doesn't impose itself on a site—it honors the land and designs within its rhythm.

Gold Collective member @bldgscienceatx has received a 2026 @aiaaustin Design Merit Award for Deer Creek Residence, recognized by a distinguished jury for a project that does exactly that. Set among long limestone shelves that trace the natural contours of the land, the home draws out the quiet poetry of its wooded site and dissolves the boundary between inside and out. The landscape remains as undisturbed as possible, with bespoke hydrology that allows water to flow through the site naturally.

"The Deer Creek Residence spurred a really great conversation. It had a subtle idea about how it navigated the landscape in these minor drops, so there was a spatial sequencing that brought you closer to the bottom of the hill, but it did so in a way that brought you these beautiful lateral views between those spaces as well," remarks juror Julie Snow, FAIA.

The project reflects Positive Energy's broader philosophy that high-performance design doesn't just respond to how a building functions, but elevates the wellbeing of those living within it. The best homes aren't just thoughtfully designed, but intentionally resilient for both people and place.

Increasingly, the real luxury is less, not more. Fewer, better options. Refined design, streamlined for function. A life free of clutter. In her recent @forbes feature, Gold Collective member Denise Caron-Quinn makes exactly that case.

In an article exploring how businesses can build product bundles customers actually want, Denise, founder of @InOrdertoSucceed, cuts through the noise with precision: product bundling works when it simplifies decisions, reduces friction, and gives clients back the thing money can't buy: time. It's a standard that mirrors her work in move concierge and luxury home organizing, where the goal has always been to help clients make space to focus on what matters most.

While many longtime tech entrepreneurs are no strangers to the art world, the extraordinary new wave of wealth generated by AI invites a new generation to consider how to spend, collect, and live well with their fortune. @wsj asked Gold Collective member @lssartadvisory about what the recent surge means for the art world, and the opportunities it creates for young collectors just beginning to engage with the art world.

Founder Laura Smith Sweeney believes that the greatest collections are built over time, through curiosity, education, access, and — most importantly — a genuine connection with the art. With time on their side and money to spend, @lssartadvisory sees an opportunity to build storied, intentional collections for a new generation of clientele in a way that's never been done before.

Thoughtful interior design can actively foster healing, hope, and emotional well-being. It's a belief that has always guided Gold Collective member Carter Design, and one that finds its most meaningful expression yet in their newest project.

@carterdesign has been selected to design a family suite within the new Stony Brook Hospital Ronald McDonald House, a 60,000-square-foot facility currently under construction that will serve as a sanctuary for families with children undergoing medical treatment.

The project carries particular resonance for the husband-and-wife team, who have experienced firsthand the comfort and generosity that Ronald McDonald House extends to families in crisis. That personal connection informs every decision — because they understand, intimately, what it means to need that room.

The suite will be designed not simply as a place to sleep, but as a restorative environment where families can find stillness amid some of the most difficult moments of their lives. It is a reminder that good design, at its most essential, is an act of care.

In an era of instant everything, why are the world's most discerning clients increasingly drawn to things that take time?

The answer lies in what mass production cannot replicate: the intelligence of a hand-drawn line, the weight of a material chosen with intention, the irreplaceable quality of work made by someone who has spent a lifetime mastering their craft. Bespoke isn't a trend. It's a response that endures.

Join us on Wednesday, October 8th at @ancientandmodernus during @dandbuilding's Fall Market for a Gold Collective conversation exploring why craft is experiencing a profound resurgence, and what it means for the future of architecture, design, and the spaces we inhabit. The conversation will be guided by Laura Bindloss of @nylonconsulting, with insights from Gold Collective members Lori Beppu of @bma.architects, Cy Carter of @carterdesign, Adrian Taylor of @hydeparkmouldings, Laura Smith Sweeney of @lssartadvisory, and Dianna Cutler of @sascofarmslandscapedesign.

If designing a great kitchen means living in a material world, then Gold Collective member Kristen Peña is a material girl. Featured in @housebeautiful's recent Kitchen Issue, @kinteriors_sf's jewel-box kitchen design from the 2024 @sfshowcase, created with fellow Gold Collective member @formagc, was cited as inspiration for fearlessly mixing materials to add drama and sculpture back into the kitchen.

At its best, artistry, nature, and design don't just work together — they create a distinct spirit of a place that transcends the parameters of the space itself.

On Haven (the Mead Quin blog), Gold Collective member @meadquin joined celebrated landscape designer @bernardtrainor at his home and garden in Carmel. For thirty years, Bernard has carefully nurtured a practice built upon observing and listening to the land, tapping into its essence to connect to the spirit of place that makes each site unique.

"My passion lies at the intersection of my art, my garden, and my landscape practice. When I was younger, I didn’t know that I could design gardens, make art, collect ceramics, and change systems. But when you feel a sense of purpose, it’s all connected. Life doesn’t have to be compartmentalized." — Bernard Trainor

Innately connected to the landscape, he has a reverence for soil, plants, and nature that runs deep. Their conversation thoughtfully wanders like Bernard's hillside garden, sharing a deep appreciation for purpose, craft, and the work we are all so fortunate to do.

There is no greater gift to an artist than space and support to create. For more than 40 years, Gold Collective member Headlands Center for the Arts has offered exactly that — and this spring, the recognition was returned.

@headlandsarts is a recipient of The Andy Warhol Foundation's 2026 Spring Grant, a $100,000 multi-year gift that will support Headlands' 2026–2028 Artist in Residence and Graduate Fellowship programs. The funding provides artists with the time, resources, and critical exchange necessary to develop new work — the same conditions Headlands has cultivated since its founding.

Housed in a cluster of rehabilitated military buildings just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, Headlands offers something increasingly rare: an environment where ideas can evolve without urgency. As Executive Director Louisa Gloger describes it, "We provide artists with the resources, space, time, and recognition to further their practices and careers."

Through residencies, fellowships, exhibitions, and public programs spanning visual art, performance, writing, music, and film, Headlands continues to make the case for art as a civic and cultural necessity.

How does a designer measure success? For Gold Collective member Leverone Design, it's defined by its ability to elevate the rituals of daily life through design.

Founded in 2007 by Matthew Leverone, the studio views each project as an opportunity to create not just a cohesive space, but a singular world — eminently livable and beautiful. An East Coast native who has spent the last three decades in San Francisco, Leverone has cultivated a design language that marries East Coast refinement with the casual style long associated with life in California. His interiors, richly layered and distinctly modern, privilege scale, proportion, and craftsmanship, honed over years of practice in prominent architecture and design firms before founding Leverone Design.

The studio is built on collaboration, pairing its team with architects, artists, and craftsmen, all united by one vision: a truly great home, designed for each client's particular vision of living graciously. To learn more about @leveronedesign, visit our link in bio.
