On this day, 8/4/11, I was a part of a book launch for my bro @realRyanBlair’s “Nothing to Lose, Everything to Gain: How I Went from Gang Member to Multimillionaire Entrepreneur”. I was entrusted to run the marketing campaign behind the book with 1 goal in mind: Being #1. And creating a #1 New York Times Bestseller is exactly what we did collectively as a team.After leaving Goldman Sachs in NYC as a Seasonal Financial Analyst and returning to Purdue’s campus during my junior year, I was contacted by Ryan with this opportunity later that summer. What was intended to be just a month in LA for the book launch eventually led to me moving here permanently following the success of the book. Multiple TV appearances, radio interviews, and a nationwide book tour were all parts that resulted in us being #1. With over 350k books sold worldwide, published in 9+ languages, with hard covers, soft covers and audiobooks, I’m grateful that my first book campaign was such a success. It helped me start and establish one of my own businesses and teams in the marketing field and other businesses now under my parent company. Ryan then went on to become Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” with ViSalus making over $1 billion in annual sales & now the founder of Altercall. It was great working alongside two legendary entrepreneurs on a daily in Ryan & @MasterP. From the book, the nationwide tour, to even marketing the ViSalus & Miller Family 90 Day challenges, campaigns & products. 🤴🏾🌍My current pilgrimage to Kemet (Egypt) Africahas broadened my scope to make me feel likeI have Seen it All….Inspired by my own knowledge of my lineage and ancestry while also being influenced by Malcolm X’s pilgrimage during Hajj of 1964 to Africa and the Middle East. I decided to also take a 2 week journey along this same path to the motherland in Kemet, Africa and the Middle East (Dubai, UAE) the day after Malcolm X Day (May 19th)..Having knowledge of your history is great, but actually seeing, touching & walking the same path that they did within the kingdoms they’ve built brings a deeper understanding that one should experience in this lifetime. Learning to embrace ALL that is the divine culture that you’re a descendant of and being welcomed amongst the people is truly a blessing..By the grace of God I was able to complete this journey on my own…🙏🏾🤲🏾🙌🏾.Notice Heru making an appearance in the first image…🙌🏾👁.P.S.During his trip in 1964, Malcolm X removed himself from the ‘Nation of Islam’ and what he was taught while in America to understand the true & genuine teachings of oneness of humankind and in their being one and only one God above all.
