What a race to finish my first year competing at gravel races: Swiss championships @ridegravel.ch in Berne. Finished 🥉 in the age group (p 23 overall), excited about the progress during the last six months and already looking forward to 2027! The race in Berne was fun and fast.

Already more than 2 weeks ago…
One of the highlights in my race calender since three years!
@triathlonbasel 🩷🩵
My hometown race with the coolest bike course I know 🚴‍♂️
For the first time, I wasn’t able to race the olympic distance in the morning and the sprint in the afternoon…
The torn muscle in my back was getting better, but still not 💯
But I‘m over the moon, that I was able to race and share the podium with the zurich duo😎😉
Another medal in Basel 🙌

4 Steine, 4 Finale, 2 🥉💪
Damit geht die Wettkampfsaison 2026 zu Ende.
Für die Steinstoss-SM habe ich mir viel vorgenommen und hatte mit den Kräften zu kämpfen.
Dennoch bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Erreichten!

Ich bin unglaublich dankbar für die Unterstützung von meiner Familie, meinen Eltern, meinem Trainerteam und natürlich auch dem @metzgerhuus.stadt.und.land und @goldwurstpower sowie dem @tvwenslingen.

Gravel European Championships 🇪🇺
What an experience! After weeks of preparation it was finally time to go on Sunday. I was excited and nervous as rarely before. My sensations were good and I could work my way forward into the Top30 (or so) after starting quite far back (position 300 or so). After the training sessions I felt comfortable on the course. Maybe a bit too much? Around 82 km into the race, I punctured. The worst possible day for ending a 2.5 month streak without puncture 😭 In particular, as the cut was too large to be fixed with my plugs, or I just simply didn’t manage to do so 😰 Extremely disappointed, I had to walk quite a bit until I found my hero of the day with a spare tube. I lost nearly 30 min and many more positions. With a mix of disappointment about the puncture and relief that I could finish the race, I tried to overtake as many riders in the remaining 60 km. Finished on place 137 out of 376 (age group). On one hand, I’m gutted that I missed the opportunity for a better classification. On the other hand, I would not have thought that such a classification would be possible for me when lining up for the first gravel race in April. And now I achieved it with a flat tire and considerable time loss 😇
The best part though was to see the final of my sister @serainaleugger who finished as 6th in the elite women’s race 🥳
Thanks to everyone who supports me on the journey, for the ones helping us in the feed/tech zone with bottles and the unknown hero with the spare tube 🫶🙏 I extremely appreciate your support!
Now, it’s time to prepare for the last races of this season.

New race – new chance 🌈💫
After the last race, I had several medical checks and I’m ready to race tomorrow.
The biggest challenge will be to let go of the last race experience and give myself a new chance.
In the end, I decided not to do a double start. Just to take care of my body and mind, because triathlon demands a lot and the long-term perspective is way more important🙏.
I wish all the Bebbis 😋 good luck at our home race. Let’s have fun.🥳

“See you at the Schilthorn.”
That’s what I said to my coach shortly before the start — and I truly believed it.
Unfortunately, I had to pull out of the race at Grosse Scheidegg.
A long-distance race is very complex, and right now there’s nothing we can point to and say: that was definitely the cause.🤷🏻‍♀️
Maybe I had a mild infection that I wouldn’t have noticed in everyday life, but that only showed up under such a high physical load. Heat may also have played a role. My measurements didn’t clearly show overheating, but some of my symptoms would fit. Another possibility is that weeks of constant heat exposure made my body more sensitive.🏜️
And maybe we’ll never know for sure what caused it.
But the measurements after I stopped clearly show that my body was no longer coping well and that pulling out of the race was the right decision.
I’m proud of myself for listening to my body.
Incredibly grateful to everyone who supported me on this adventure. 🫶💓
A huge thank you to my love @svenaltermatt who supported my sooo much in all the trainings, preparing my bikes (yes, plural 😅), strategy and also on day X for beeing there 💘❤️ especially after my DNF❤️.
