Course was really fun! Tons of great views and fun holes. 7,000 feet elevation too.

The experience overall was really good but nothing incredible. Definitely worth playing if you’re near Albuquerque though as it’s the top course in New Mexico and worth the $225.

Adding ratings to courses now…
Going with 2 categories: the course (design, conditions, architecture, fun factor, scenery) and the experience (clubhouse/amenities, service, practice facilities, food, pace, history, and overall feel).

My scale:
-9+: Rare. Only for the most elite in the country.
-7-9: incredible. Potentially top 100.
-5-7 very high quality. Would definitely like to play again.
-3-5: Likely disappointing or missed expectations. Still at least a legitimate course/experience but not one I’m seeking out again.
-Under 3: garbage

Wohali was great! Unique course up somewhat near Park City. It’s going private soon. Would play there again for sure. Rating: 8.3

When your wife goes on a road trip to the northwest and asks you if you want to fly out somewhere and drive part of the way home with her… “Sure, Babe. How about I fly out to San Francisco and we make a “quick stop” at @pebblebeachresorts on the way back and play Spyglass Hill? 😁

The Chain has probably been the best short course I’ve played. It had legitimate holes and felt like real golf instead of some of the gimmicky stuff a lot of short courses have now. Fun round for sure… except for this putt coming back down the hill when all I needed was to get on and two putt to win the round lol. Also got to watch @rorymcilroy win @themasters on our phones while playing at the same time which was fun too!

I put this spreadsheet together last summer after @golfdigest came out with their updated rankings. Wanted a better way to help me plan future trips, keep track of the courses I’ve played, and have all the rankings in one spot without having to bounce around different websites. Happy to share if anyone wants the file. Leave a comment or send a DM if you do.

For each set of rankings, I assigned a number of points based on the ranking (100 points for a #1 ranking and 1 point for #100). For courses that were listed in one set but not in others I just gave it 0.5 pts for the sources that didn’t have it ranked. Then I totaled the amount of points for each course and gave a consensus ranking. IMO, each of these sources have some egregious errors (for example, how in the world is Lawsonia ranked ahead of Erin Hills @golf_com and @golfweekmag ?!!), but overall I think @golfdigest has the most accurate rankings if I had to choose one.

Bloopers from Bay Hill. Not our best.

The Black course at @streamsongresort was probably my least favorite of the three main courses but it was also the most unique of the three and still a must play at least once. One of the most distinct aspects is the greens are some of the largest in the world!
