This week Nainalu stepped up with “the boys”… He didn’t just play a hole or two, and then got bored, or he didn’t want to go grab a snack… No…. We started with ice cream in the restaurant and then I asked him if he wanted to go hit range balls, or putt, or drive the cart, or go look for golf balls in the woods, or go play some holes with the boys….

He said, “go play with the boys”….

We caught up with the boys on hole 7 and legit played out the final 12 holes. 😆 😯

Obviously we picked up after shots, and kept the pace of play a priority, but he straight up held his own.

So great……..

Great time yesterday afternoon with @joesipteapono and all my Ohana from @kingkamehamehagolfclub in the 2 person Spooky scramble.

There was more good golf played than bad, which is always a bonus.

Props to Julius Caesar Joe for swinging with that toga on for a few holes 😆. Not easy.

The wind is always a fun challenge to work in…. Low ball flights into the wind, higher when it was helping. And don’t think the wind won’t affect those lag putts.

Playing good golf at KK means your game will travel well.

Super stoked to be a part of this Ohana for the next 3-4 decades.

Wasn’t planning on playing so much golf, but after that snow storm came through last week the weather has turned a corner and it’s all time right now in terms of golfing in layers, which I only brought a couple of 😆.

Enjoying seeing the snow still in the sierras, keeping the rental clubs clanging as I walk the course expecting a bear to cruise out of hibernation at any second.

Lunch, range sesh, played some holes, learned some golf etiquette, drove golf carts, mixed in some catch, and ended the day scooping some fresh clubs…..

Bonus round of golf on this visit to hang with @jaymantizzle and his kids. I had zero intention of golfing this trip until yesterday morning when James says. “You want to play 9 at Langdon Farms today?….2:20 tee time “

Well, we teed off early at 2pm and was able to walk 18 in just slightly over 3 hours.

Weather was all time! 60 degrees, mostly overcast, was able to wear layers, pants, and even a skull cap tor the first two holes. Apparently it had been raining a bunch here lately. Some of the bunkers were flooded still. But the course was in good shape.

Nobody pushing, nobody holding us up. Not crowded at all.

Island life, and weather, is primary for me, but to get a piece of PNW in late fall…. Leaves changing… sign me up all day every day.

And to top it off… James decided to drop a 79. Played well in every facet of his game. I was a half dozen strokes off him and played nicely too today. A couple too many chunks, 2 balls wet. 🪦 I did have 3 birdie looks inside 10 feet in the first 6 holes and made 1, but then back to reality.

I think we’re playing The Reserve next. Let’s go…

Went out to Oregon last week to hang with my brother and his kids. Always love getting in some PNW time with them.

Played some fun golf courses, put together some good holes, caught some Vic Roy’s, weather was solid.

May be the best bang for my golf dollar all time, ever. $29 to play this course is a steal. Greens were recently punched which hurt a few putts for sure. But every aspect of my game was above average.

Man…. -1 under first 6 holes. Best start ever. 37 front 9. +3 going into 16, playing lights out for me. But then….Hole 16 double, hole 17 triple, hole 18 bogey. 🪦. 81…. Still a solid round … need to finish better.

I had plans to just fuse into the couch today and binge @themasters but right before the top 5-7 pairings were about to tee off I saw @oldbrockway1924 @oldbrockwaygolftahoe throw up a story that they opened today… weather is all time here in Lake Tahoe, stoked to wear layers, so I set out and walked 18. This course just feeds the soul, felt great to walk in cooler weather, I played solidly, seeing snow capped sierra mountains, even walked on some snow still on the course. Old Brockway is a family owned 9 hole course, and the family who runs the course are top shelf human beings.

Looking to get in another couple of rounds before heading home late next week.

Better clips to come… my phone battery keeps dying fast. 🪦

My boy played lights out yesterday with rental clubs, posting his best score ever, while his clubs were being regripped at Roger Dunn Golf.

Had to have been an uncomfortable drive home from the golf store…. 🪦
