Hello! Last week one of my favorite people on this earth got hit with a major setback on his mental health journey. He is doing SO much better, and I know he is gonna make a full comeback. But at the moment, it's taken a big toll and he needs to rebuild from the ground up. If you know him, you know how much of an inspiration he is. If you know me, you know how hard I've worked to make sure he is supported. And if you didn't know, it's Men's Mental Health Awareness Month!

So if you want help ease the load for either of us during this transition, please consider taking a look at the GiveInKind or GoFundMe pages, sharing and if you are moved to, donating or signing up for hands-on support. If you'd rather donate directly, I'll share Cashapp and Venmo below. Thank you so much for your love!

Hey friends, or as we say in Detroit, “Whaddup doe”.

Recently, the power of the community has been everything for me, and today I’m sharing a friend’s story. 💜

I’ve known Jamaal May @mercuryvsjamaal for over 20 years now, and right now, there is a moment to uplift this talented Detroit brother.✊🏾

If you are unfamiliar, he is an award winning poet with several collections of poetry out there.

There’s a #givinkind page set-up where you can find out how to help on the ground with moving ir storage and housing, or give via GoFundMe, Venmo, or CashApp.

The link 🔗 is in my stories and bio 👆🏾

✨Here’s a bit of what is on the page: “Hi everyone,
Over the last several years, our dear friend, beloved and fiercely talented poet, and supporter of so many has been quietly navigating his own mental health.

If you know Jamaal, you know that he is always down to support or strategize with you about how to do something or achieve your desired outcome. He will listen and hold space, and now it is time that we hold space for him.“

👉🏾 Check it out, share, support or leave Jamaal a message.

Peace. taken in Detroit, Michigan by @gonkewonke

****Update**** OCT 5
She was found! Trapped in another neighbor's house! With two people AND two other cats at home!

Huge thank you to everyone who supported me physically, emotionally, virtually, energetically, spiritually, etc.

And a special shout-out to @rurounimugen for persistently looking and eventually finding and helping trap her.

My cat is lost! 😭😭😭😞

Last seen 10/2 - Thursday afternoon at home on Clark St.

Lightfoot didn't come home Thursday night. I think she has gotten trapped somewhere. This has only ever happened once before, and that time she was trapped in an elderly neighbor's house right next door who had no idea she was inside.

I have searched the house she was trapped in before. My other neighbors on Clark st. have also been kind enough to let me look on their property. If you live in the Clark Park area especially, please help me find her by checking your house, basements, and garages etc. she is wearing a worn out pink collar with a small bell. She is shy of strangers usually and cats in general hide very well and don't meow when they don't feel safe. So if you hear a small bell, please investigate. Also, please share this post, help spread the word to anyone who may have found a lost cat, and ask your elderly neighbors and anyone not on the app.

Trying my best to maintain hope. We found her quickly last time with searching. Now, even after two days of full searching, I am very worried.

Thank you thank you thank you for helping me!
