Recipe for the Unforgettable Omelette:
- A bunch of good eggs
- A healthy dollop of 100% pure unpasteurised talent
- Generous drizzle of fun

Work eggs to exhaustion. Burn them in the sun. Apply after sun to taste… Serve on an unparalleled stage in the Cornish coast and garnish with a full moon rise on the horizon.

Savour it carefully, as it will leave a strong bittersweet aftertaste once finished.

Truly magic and unforgettable experience, being able to perform at the @minacktheatre with the @btaonstage, in a show I absolutely love.

I’m so impressed by everyone at the BTA, in particular the young performers, who have totally amazed me with their talent, skill, professionalism, and kindness. Honestly an amazing set of people to have had the privilege to share the Minack stage with.

So many unforgettable moments, but to mention one of many, the view of the full Buck Moon rising on the horizon over the Cornish sea as the backdrop to our show will live in my mind rent free, “For Forever”. Serendipity at its finest 👌

I achieved something I’m pretty proud of and I finally wanted to celebrate it. It’s been just over a year since I began my transformation, I’m not done yet but I wanted to take stock, and share this milestone.

When I reached 99kg I swore to myself that I wouldn’t hit the 3 digits. For some reason I felt like there was no coming back if I crossed that threshold. After a lifetime of failed attempts at turning my health around, something’s been different this time, and it seems to have stuck.

1 year ago I was 99kg at ~37% body fat. Today I’m 74kg at ~14%.
• Net -25kg / 55lbs
• Fat lost: ~ -29kg
• Lean mass gain: ~ -4kg

What I did:

- I did not take any weight loss drugs. I did consider them, but I just wanted to see if I could achieve it without them. Got nothing against them.

- educated myself by reading peer reviewed studies on nutrition and exercise. I wanted something I could trust and understand on first principles. Having a solid knowledge foundation motivated me to put in practice what I had learned, but was also an anchor in tough moments.

- >500 Calorie deficit almost every day. I tracked everything I ate religiously in an app for an entire year, not just the calories but macros too.

- I hit the gym 4-5 times a week for mostly strength training but also some circuit training. I started with some group PT classes to keep it more affordable, but once I had built my own program I dropped the classes and hit the gym solo. My program is simple and basically built around PPL (Push Pull Legs)

- I ate 110g of protein everyday. I actually started at 160g but this was way too much for someone with diabetes because of the risks to kidneys.

- I weighed myself everyday and tracked it, only paying attention to the weekly trend.

- I wouldn’t have managed mentally or logistically without the immense support of @tinalexoo, my wife, who’s nuts enough to put up with me

It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever accomplished, but by far most rewarding. I have inexpressible empathy for anyone who wrestles with weight, and deep respect and understanding for anyone who is able to overcome it.

Just back from my first Burning Man journey. There’s so much to process, but for now I wanted to share one of my favourite compositions I captured. It gets close to the otherworldly sensation of being out on the playa at night. It also captures the magic of serendipity that constantly followed me throughout my time there.

I took this on top of a cloud art car during a @maxacamp and @longfengartcar link-up at this enigmatic art piece after the Man Burn on Saturday. I beleive the sculpture is from the artist @michaelbenisty.art

The composition lined up serendipitously with me on the art car, and the @_mayanwarrior_ laser centred perfectly between these two creatures reaching out to each other. With a 10 second long exposure I was able to capture the radiant contouring of the chrome statues illuminated by the impressive light shows of the surrounding art cars.

I have so many more magically serendipitous moments and experiences to share, but I wanted to start with this.

Sondheim’s ‘Company’ Act 2

Even though we only had one “big ensemble dance” number we made the most of it. ‘What would we do without you’ was a hell if a way to kick off act 2!

Taking off my clothes for the bedroom scene with @hannahmckv was the easy part… putting them back on in the middle of a song… less so… Huge anxiety every night! But we got it every time.

After having limber and groovy @h.j.samuelsson warm up the audience with his ‘unique’ club 🕺 , I had the privilege of watching @racheywilliams nail ‘Ladies who lunch’ every night and I then had the lofty task of following it with ‘Being Alive’. By Saturday I finally felt like I was able to place every part of that song and deliver it exactly like I wanted, immensely rewarding and delivered to the most generous audiences! 🥰🙏
