Been a lil while since I’ve done a song of the week. This song has been in my head since I unfortunately found out about my amigos passing. Haven’t been able to shake this tune so only felt right to sing this one for him. Had a special surprise visit from one of my very first clients today! 😜 My Jefito! Back with another song of the week! A few weeks ago I finally saw the new Elvis concert documentary Epic and well me being a huge fan of Big E (obsessed as a kid🤦🏻‍♂️🤣), I find myself talking to my clients about it quite a bit and to me there was so much to process that I still catch myself wanting to see it again! Some of my favorite childhood memories are of sneaking sips of my mom’s coffee or her handing me my own(mostly milk with a splash of coffee). I loved spending the evening in the living room watching Sábado Gigante or America’s Funniest Videos with a bolillo topped with butter and cinnamon sugar and my tiny “cup” of coffee in hand.
Since then, coffee has remained one of life’s simple comforts. Whether it’s a warm cup on a crisp morning or an iced latte on a hot summer day, coffee has always had a way of bringing me joy. Over the years, I started experimenting with different beans, flavors, and recipes, and I discovered I loved making coffee for other people.
As I begin this new academic journey into nursing school, I wanted to find something that would not only help support me financially but also give me a creative outlet and a chance to do something I genuinely love. So I decided to combine two of my passions, and Pro Re Nata (PRN) Coffee was born.
For those in healthcare, PRN means “as needed.” And if you work in healthcare caffeine is definitely an as-needed medication. If we could have it running through an IV, many of us probably would! ☕️💉
PRN Coffee is a little piece of me in a cup. Every drink helps support my nursing school journey, and every order reminds me how lucky I am to have such an amazing community behind me.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this dream. Every cup helps support my journey to becoming a nurse, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.

Song of the week! This song is always shuffled in here at Gonzalez barbering and seems to get people humming in the chair or if not asking about it. “Who is this?” “I know this song!” This song is not only beautiful but proof that music has no boundaries, no BORDERS music has its own power to bridge any language barrier! I love being able to be myself and “BROWN DOWN” as some have called it in the past, and introduce people to music they’re not maybe used to hearing or heard before. I get an absolute thrill when someone asks “what does that song say? or what do the lyrics mean?” It not only gets me thinking about the lyrical translation but allows me to appreciate the song that much more and it not just being a song I’ve heard growing up my whole life. Thank you all for a busy week I appreciate you all that come sit in my chair and allow me to get you looking and feeling your best. SALUD mi gente. It’s now been since 6 years since my Jefita got called up for angel duty. Everyday I miss her but everyday I think about her and try and make her proud. I always get asked around this time “ WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR CINCO DE MAYO!” And well it’s obviously not a happy celebration day for me or even my mexican people YES WE DONT CELEBRATE THIS DAY! 🤣 I’ve been responding “SINCE ITS “MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY” I TAKE THE DAY OFF” and well now that is true. I don’t work or will ever work cinco de mayo anymore 😎 it’s a day I dedicate to my mom. What I would give to scare her one more time like this it was my favorite thing to do to her she scared so easily 😆 miss you AMÁ que sigas descansando en paz. 🙏🏼🥲 by @gonzalez_barbering

SONG OF THE WEEK! This song has been in my head a lot lately after a fellow musician reminded me of a video out on YouTube of when my band @rudyg_y_los_hi_tones recorded an album at none other than @thelegendarysunstudio and warmed up with this tune! It decided to play on my playlist here at the shop and can’t get it outta my head! So starting something new to end my days and play a bit for all of you who would like to take a listen!
