👋🏾🕯️ We are launching a new chapter. We wanted to take a moment to reintroduce our community to our guiding principles.

We are a feminist reproductive justice collective. Since 2022, we have organized abortion access support, coordinated pro-abortion protests, and led workshops on doula training, sexual health, trans health, and consent.

We plan to continue supporting Madison’s growing feminist culture through reading groups, craft nights, and community dinners, paired with interactive workshops in organizing skills like digital security, de-escalation, and nonviolent communication.

Reproductive justice includes more than abortion. It includes access to contraception, maternal healthcare, trans healthcare, and accurate sex education.

We are committed to supporting abortion access and bodily autonomy through education, fundraising, practical support, and protest.

We host workshops on sexual health, trans health, consent, pleasure, and body literacy.

Feminist movements are built within trusting, friendly community spaces where people can learn from one another: book clubs, crafting nights, health workshops, movie screenings, tea parties, tarot nights, storytelling circles, etc.

Too many progressive spaces are undermined by burnout, gossip, and endless conflict. We are committed to practicing nonviolent communication and creating structures that encourage participation and limit gatekeeping.

We believe that building a better world starts with taking care of one another right here in Madison.

To fellow survivors,

So many of us carry wounds, old and new, that have been ripped open by the news surrounding the Cornell 7.

We are disgusted by these stories and by the institutional failures that allow rape to happen and then fail survivors afterward. Universities have enormous incentives to protect their reputations, their athletic programs, their donors, their endowments.

Wisconsin has a drug rape problem. We have our own long, tired history of sexual violence connected to frat parties and football culture. Two University of Wisconsin-Madison students recently reported they were drugged and sexually assaulted at off-campus fraternity houses. 90% of penetrative rapes on our campus involve drinking.

Anyone who pressures you to drink or use drugs is not your friend.

To every survivor who is hurting right now: We believe you. We are thinking about you. You do not owe anyone a performance of strength or forgiveness.

Fuck rapists. Fuck rape culture. Fuck institutions that protect their reputations at the expense of survivors.

a better strategy is coordinating people with different skills to protect those willing to be arrested. the options can be: stay and defend (red level), stay and protect (yellow level), or stay and witness (green level).

Protest Safety
August 5th, 6 - 7 PM
Room of One’s Own (2717 Atwood Ave)

On August 5th, we are going to talk about how to stay safe while protesting. This means: first aid basics, how to create a safety plan, what to do during an arrest, and digital security.

We will also play a fun game to practice situational awareness.

Now is the time to learn how to fight back and sharpen the skills you already have.
