Ye (fka Kanye West) and Virgil Abloh shared a relationship and friendship like no other, a 20-year bond that stemmed from a close creative partnership. The two first met in 2006 in Chicago, and would later meet again in Rome, bonding over their shared love for fashion, design, and culture. Virgil would go on to be an integral part of Ye’s creative process, helping develop projects and designing art for albums such as 808s & Heartbreak and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. In 2018, Ye and Virgil would go onto sharing an emotional moment at a Louis Vuitton fashion show, signifying their mutual respect and love for each other, despite rocky moments in their relationship. Virgil tragically passed away from cancer in November 2021, to which Ye responded to by making some controversial public statements. Although their current standings is complex, their is no denying the impact that Ye and Abloh had on the modern art and music scene Today would’ve been Virgil’s 46th birthday. RIP and Happy Birthday one of the greatest to ever do it. 🕊️ 🫟 Need It or Keep It? 🔮 Daily underground news and updates 💜 Follow us everywhere at the link in bio #virgilabloh #kanyewest #undergroundrap #ye #yeezus by @goodasssub

"Yandhi" was supposed to release 8 years ago today. Easily the most famous unreleased album of all time, had it dropped, Ye's career trajectory would look completely different. We would never have gotten Jesus Is King, which would likely mean no God's Country and eventually Donda, all of which had tracks originating from Yandhi. One of the biggest what-ifs in hip-hop history #Ye #Kanye #KanyeWest #Yenaissance #TheYenaissance by @goodasssub

Throughout Ye's wildly successful tour this year, insane things have happened with some of his best-ever live moments taking place. Though I couldn't fit everything, this post goes through some of the biggest standout moments of his ongoing Live Stadium Tour #Ye #Kanye #KanyeWest #Yenaissance #TheYenaissance Ye Live in Mexico City (Night 1, January 30th) 🇲🇽 | The show that kicked the whole tour off. Andrè Troutman makes his live debut, notably on "ALL THE LOVE", where his talkbox was so beloved by fans that Ye ended up adding him to the final song Ye live at SoFi Stadium (Night 1, April 1st) 🇺🇸 | The iconic globe stage's debut, night 1 of SoFi was Ye's return to major stadiums in the US, with a brand new larger-than-life stage that would go on to be the pinnacle of this tour. Don Toliver made a guest appearance. Ye Live at SoFi Stadium (Night 2, April 3rd) 🇺🇸 | Was widely considered the best show of the entire tour until very recently. Guest appearances from Travis Scott, CeeLo Green, North West, and most notably Lauryn Hill all made this show one to be remembered. Ye Live in Istanbul, Türkiye (May 30th) 🇹🇷 | This show had a record-breaking 118,000 ticketed attendance, reported to be the largest ticketed stadium event ever held by Ye himself Ye Live in San Antonio, Texas (July 4th) 🇺🇸 | Ye brought out Tony Williams to sing the Star Spangled Banner in celebration of American Independence Day Ye live in Tbilisi, Georgia (June 12th) 🇬🇪 | Ye ends off the show with Hey Mama as a tribute to his mother Donda West, whose birthday was that day Ye Live in New Orleans (August 28th) 🇺🇸 | Ye brings out long-time collaborator Ty Dolla $ign, uniting the VULTURES duo for the first time in a live setting since 2024 Ye live in Chicago, Illinois (September 4th) 🇺🇸 | It's almost universally agreed upon that Ye's live shows in Chicago, specifically night 2, is one of his greatest shows and one of the best shows in hip-hop in general. Though I couldn't go through absolutely everything that happened, I did my best to compile the best moments from night 2, one of the most legendary events ever held Ye previewing "New Slaves" for the first time during this tour by @goodasssub
