Freddie’s origin story 💓🥹🫶

For the past two years, I have spent hours on instagram and online trying to find Freddie (formerly Mooji’s) origin story. All I knew is he came from the Bahamas and arrived without a litter or parents. I didn’t know what city or what organization—I had no information. Every few months I’d search for Bahamas rescues just to see if I could find dogs that even look like him. I am usually a pretty great internet detective but I was ready to give up. And then this week, something amazing happened: I found Freddie.

Freddie was discovered in the back of a house two weeks after he was born in Nassau. One of his siblings had been killed in the road in front of him and his parents were in bad shape. @voicelessdogsofnassaubahamas rescued him and his sister (pictured) before sending Freddie on a freedom flight to Miami and then a road trip to New York a few months later. Also pictured are his parents! Yes, he got his dad’s eyes.

Full story on the last slide.

Thank you to Chella from @voicelessdogsofnassaubahamas for everything she does. She is an absolute hero and an incredible asset to the rescue community. She is still raising money for supplies and freedom flights, so please donate to her so she can save more pups like Freddie, who now gets homemade treats and sleeps on a plush bed in central AC. by @goodboy_freddie
