An author, an influencer, and a fresh voice in the queer literature scene, 22-year-old Spencer Thomas isn’t doing things by the book. Last year, he self-published his debut collection of short stories, titled Goodbye to Boyhood, bringing his unique perspective to the coming-of-age genre — and his literary career is only just getting started.

Thomas grew up on a nature preserve in rural Connecticut. He credits his love for literature and all things creative to his late grandmother, who he’d often read books with as a child. “A lot of the books we read were actually Mark Twain, because he lived in my hometown. That’s my fun fact for you of the day: Redding, Connecticut is the home of Mark Twain!” he says. “I was just so immersed in this idea that you can kind of create anything you want from nothing.” Follow the link in bio to read more on @intomore's #25Under25 honoree. by @goodboysubstack
