POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

it’s wild to love an art form so much and continuously feel the depth of your relationship to it grow and evolve. the act of tattooing, is a way of being in the world that feels like coming home to me, even when it looks different from years past. within the sways of my life, i have always felt a consistent and centering relationship with it. what a gift it is, to have found the thing that calls us to the table and asks us to become ourselves through the service of something beautiful, the service of alchemizing another’s story.

oooi. tremendously grateful for madison’s trust through this process, i couldn’t be more pleased with this one. she came to me for a back piece with full creative freedom on my end and through our dialogue we landed on using brown ink for the whole piece. done in two sittings, stipple layering a reddish/brown ink. i’m excited to see this settle and fade as it grows with her. this was such an incredible experience, and i’d love to work on more bold style brown ink pieces. drop me a line !

Two of my most favorite plant allies, yarrow and St. John’s wort. 💫 Thank you so much Shanna, for wearing these amulets and trusting me with creative direction. We were inspired by our mutual connection to the Celtic isles and wanted to choose flora that grew there and in Maine. First one during my guest spot with the fantastic crew over at @melontrout.tattoo , thank you for hosting me again. ☺️ taken in Biddeford, Maine by @goodbrick_

This August marks seven years of my tattoo career, my first marriage and dearly devoted craft. This orbit feels different than previous years, as some of you may already know, seven is the number of the threshold. It is deeply woven in myths and stories through out so many lineages, and is often considered a bridge between chapters and phases in life. Seven is a symbolic rhythm of the psyche, an opportunity to mature and understand relating in a whole new way; To self and others, to work and rest, the whole spectrum of whatever it means to be human, to you in your own mythology.

It feels as simple as I know myself so much better than in 2019; it’s not that I have anymore answers than before but there is an intimacy and communication formed, this is paramount in retrospect. There is more honesty, more respect, and more awareness of the fuel sources I use in my life. In tandem with finishing up my Saturn return next month, I feel a profound opening and opportunity so new to my being. It’s all feeling very liminal, and renewing. I had a dream last month that I was in a sinking ship, but was incredibly calm. I remember holding my soul in this box that I chose to let float up to the surface, choosing whatever else I wanted to keep too while the rest was swallowed by the sea. This is what it feels like.

Thank you to each and every one of you who has chosen me to adorn your body. I have been throughly blessed, humbled, and mirrored through these seven years with ya’ll. I will be no doubt continuing to tattoo ; although come January it will slooowww down for a while, with periodic guest spot bursts. Choosing a steady and slower dance moving forward; full of exploration and receptivity. More to say on that later, so make sure you’re signed up for my newsletter for the full download. 😘

Last video on slide was taken by my mentor back when I was still apprenticing in the Old Port of Portland, Maine. No, I don’t smoke anymore nor did I ever during a tattoo. 😂

The amount of work that gets buried in my camera roll is silly. Please know if I didn’t post your tattoo it’s nearly always because I’m trying to develop better boundaries with this app and not live in a constant stream of posting/ sharing. This is a section of one of my favorite floral sleeves I started at the beginning of this year for @macofer.tattoos 💛🌿

What a July it has been so far ! In the nature of summer time energy, my pace has quite literally been a non-stop drip of movement and creation. Happy to have a window this morning to root and ground before heading into a very special training this week. 🌾
.
