Thank you, Edith and CJ @NYC_Cooper for bringing love to patients. You are Good Dog Therapy! 💙 Transcript: Some of the patients that stand out to me are the ones who are really touched when they see CJ. They miss their dogs. They have been there for over—you know—a number of days. And what gets me is that you hear that ‘oh,’ all of a sudden when they see him coming around the curtain or in the door. And they just love seeing him.I've had patients where, when they’ve seen him for the first time, they are—they sometimes they started to cry. They're in pain, or missing home, and what not, and missing their pets. And I've actually had one patient stop pushing the button for medication, because the way CJ was, it just made her immediately stop feeling any pain. Because all she wanted was the dog and having his love. by @gooddogtherapy

Happy Mother’s Day to Kathleen, mom of Good Dog Buttercup, who she shares a special bond with! Plus, daughter Lola is also a certified volunteer with @ButterMyGirl. 💙 Transcript: I find it really something I look forward to doing. I like doing it with her. I feel like it’s bonded us. And it’s also some of the demands that Good Dog has before they’ll even start training you to be in the/to be a therapy dog—before you can even get admitted to the first class, is things that I had put off doing with training her, you know. And so now I’m really even better and more focused at training her and making sure she’s a Good Dog citizen. by @gooddogtherapy

For our amazing volunteer teams, like Team Hugo, #NationalTherapyAnimalDay is every day! Team Hugo shares a special bond with a patient at a local hospital. Thank you, Rob and @HugoFiato! 💙Transcript: Hugo and I go there every Saturday to a few different units to visit the patients. They all gather in the community room and kind of pass him around and pet them and interact with him. And he’s just so perfect, just the greatest temperament. And there’s one patient in particular, who I’m so moved by. He’s deaf, so he can’t hear. And Hugo and him just have the greatest bond. It really goes to show the sensory experiences that I think dogs can have when they’re interacting with people. They say, it’s/this patient’s highlight of the week, seeing Hugo. He signs, ‘I love him’ to Hugo. It’s just very, very touching,—and it’s kind of—they have this special way of communicating that is so distinct and unique and very heartfelt. So just one of the many examples of some of the really fulfilling work that we do there. by @gooddogtherapy

Remembering our furever volunteer, Good Dog Truffles! 💙🌈 While Team Truffles volunteered prior to COVID, during COVID Truffles was Catherine’s "assistant" and students constantly asked to spend more time with Truffles at the end of Zoom lessons.From volunteer Catherine, “I am forever grateful for that in a way words cannot express. Meet Edie and Faye, two of our latest Good Dog graduates! 🎉 Our program starts after pre-screen acceptance with Therapy Skills, a four once-a-week 90-minute classes taken in-person with others seeking certification. The fee is $280. After graduation, each grad will have their trial Shadow Visit with the goal of passing so they can start volunteering and become Good Dog certified! 💙 by @gooddogtherapy
