THE OLDEST SHOP IN CAYMAN? 🇰🇾

Mr. Arthur’s affectionally known as 7/11 by the older generations was originally established in 1897. ❤️ @mr.arthurs.cayman

Tbh, I’ve always admired this store from the outside as it reminds me of our roots and culture!! 🥹❤️ However, this is my first time in the shop since they’ve reopened!!

Inside you can find snacks, household items, produce, sandwiches, patties and etc. It’s your typical Caymanian convenient store and I love that for us. 🔥

I stopped inside hoping they had locally made peppermints and they did!! Mission complete – secured the bag! ✅🤣

Stop by today and have a look around. You can even sit outside and enjoy a unique view of the GT waterfront. 🌊 Great chill spot on a windy day. 😊

5 Meals under $5!? 💸

Need more cost-effective meals until payday? Don’t worry, we got you! 💰 We’ve all been there.. so save this post for a rainy day! ✅

Here’s some of my favourite finds that are under five dollars. Yes, I know, some of you need more than one piece of chicken/baleada. 😂 However, this does the job for me every time without breaking the bank. 💰

If we’re being real, this video was very hard to make as the cost of living has soared here in the Cayman Islands. At one point, those doubles used to cost $2.00! The foster’s pizza is definitely my go-to and favourite and I hope Fosters doesn’t increase the price of their pizza slices after watching this video. 🍕😂

🇰🇾♥️Highlighting Caymanian Excellence ♥️🇰🇾

Made in East End (M.I.E.E.) Jameion Bodden has been jerking chicken for over 12 years. Everyone knows that he has some of THE BEST jerk chicken in the Cayman Islands. If you haven’t tried it, you need to make arrangements to visit ASAP. (More details on locations/opening times below). 😂🔥

But in addition to making some of the best jerk chicken around, Jameion also hosts a local cookout style event called ROAST SUNDAYS (every Sunday) where him and his team cook up lots of conch, fish and seafood!

There is honestly no other spot serving up some of his delicious dishes. Where else can you get a plate of fried conch? 🔥🐚💥

Last Sunday, we stopped by to grab some of our favourites. You can see the menu in this reel but we will mention our top 5 absolute must tries:

1. FRIED CONCH
2. FRIED BARRA(CUDA) (at your own risk lol)
3. JERK CHICKEN
4. CONCH SOUP

We visited @smash.ky to try their burger of the month: The Pink Ribbon Burger 🎀🍔

This burger was specifically created to honour and support Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎀🩷

It’s loaded with their iconic juicy patty, crispy bacon, sharp cheddar, pink pickled onions (staying on theme here 😊), pink garlic aioli all beautifully placed between a pink beetroot bun!💗🍔

For the entire month of October, $1 from every Pink Ribbon Burger sold will be donated to @bcfcayman to support their hard work in our local community! 🇰🇾

FOODIE FINDS EP. 4 🌴 Meet Daniel, aka Danny!

This super chill spot by the water is definitely one that we’re familiar with! Located at The Grand Caymanian Resort, Driftwood is all about laid-back beachside vibes, Caribbean-inspired food, creative island-inspired cocktails, and a view that makes the drive completely worth it. 😉

Danny showed us around and, of course, helped us pick a few things we had to try!

💡 Fun Fact: Did you know that, according to “The Tale of the Drifter,” a fisherman was stranded in Cayman after the 1932 hurricane and made his home right where Driftwood Bar & Grill now stands? 🐚🎣

There’s even a cocktail dedicated to the tale, which we definitely have to try on our next visit! 🤗

🇹🇷Turkish Food meets the Cayman Islands 🇰🇾💥

Come with us to try Mr. Istanbul, Cayman’s only Turkish food truck, located right in town. Everything we got was absolutely delicious, especially their Köfte Ekmek, which is their grilled meatball sandwich.

What we loved about this spot is that you can take your food to go or sit and enjoy the space. Plus, you’re served by the owner himself! 🤤

🍋 Homemade Lemonade

The lemonade really helped us beat the island heat, let us tell you! ☀️
