Small bottle self portrait! I wanted to make a test for some bigger pieces I want to make. I had to test one of the design styles I have in mind... I think it works well actually. I do wish the shape was different and the odd shape to the bottle top was more exaggerated vs subtle. It feels like the right direction though! I am deeply madly in love with porcelain if you didn't know. All of my favorite work in the past year has been porcelain. 🩵

I clearly have to start taking actual nice photos booth type photos of my work... i am still getting to that point... in the meantime can we talk about my gorgeous trim on this, please? by @goodinallforms

Stitching by the riverside was a lovely choice. In June I began the process of deconstructing my art practice. I am picking it apart piece by piece. Much like the way I pull stitches from this piece when something has gone wrong with it.

Step one was easy ---> look my art practice in the eyes and observe it directly and unapologetically. Build an understanding of what it has been over time. As well as my part in it.

Step two ---> dismantle even the simple processes involved; planning, thinking, designing, discovering, etc. Even the way I discuss my work has been completely unraveled. Without hesitation I now push myself in new directions and engage in a new way with my work.

Now I am in step three ---> who am I in my art practice? A discovery of self and the implicit impact of each version of self that I introduce to my work. How do I interact with my work? What does every stage say to me? Not to others, but to myself.

Each of these steps has included many miniature steps. Each one has many questions involved and is rich in depth of understanding and exploration.

During this stage I am working my way through many self portraits in various mediums. This one is cross stitched on 14ct aida with 3 strands of floss. Thicker than my traditional floss use, but in that comes its own challenges and tactile nature. I am aiming to interact with my spaces and materials in a way I have not before. I am looking to fail. To grow. To evolve.

I am exploring and discovering. I suppose you could say I am boldly going where many have gone before. For the sake of myself and my work. taken in Denver, Colorado by @goodinallforms

Simple and whimsical... I think?? Glazed a bunch of pieces, porcelain and white stoneware (money, eh?) With simple designs. I allowed myself to play for a bit. Maybe there's something sweet about it? I can't decide...

It's hard to get into clay when you're worried about your niece. Fingers crossed still for recovery... She is still in children's and we are still hoping and wishing for her to get better. Drowning is a very real and very possible thing, and it looks different for children than it does for adults. It can happen even with a adult within arms reach. Do your part, research it and also get swim lessons for your kids or as a gift for your family and friends kids. by @goodinallforms

Sometimes your doodles look nice even when your glaze fails to do it's job. 😅

A potter and their cat! This little demon likes to bite my arms if I don't regularly stop to pet her!!! How rude!! She is not the type of pottery cat who would make a good pot, she doesn't yearn for the clay. She yearns for me!!!!

Four years ago today I got married!!!! Thank goodness I picked the best one. @liam.0rion I love you so much!!

Liam and I have gone through so much together. He has been my rock and I have been his. Every single day I think about ways to care for them and love them. Even when I have 10% and he has 70% (let's face it, right now we can't reach 100% as a pair and that's okay!). They always make my birthday special, and he always comes back to tough moments with so much grace. I am so grateful for him every single day.

Made it back into the studio for the first time in soooo long! Had to bring silly energy with me. Cheers to finding a new flow and doing a lot of healing!

My birthday was this past Thursday, and I have not opened a single happy birthday message. I do this every year. I wait until like a week after to open anything from it. So!
