The American Red Cross has declared only the second national blood supply crisis in its history and is now limiting distributions of type O blood to hospitals. Just three more donors at each blood drive could help end the crisis and stabilize the national blood supply.

If you can give blood, be one of those three. Make an appointment here today: https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=gslc by @goodshepherdnwa

Consider joining GSLC for #NWAPride activities.

The more people who show up at the #NWATransMarch the stronger the message: trans people are wonderfully made do not stand alone.

GSLC's Pride Parade theme is #allyouneedislove
Plan for heat and bring anything you need to stay comfortable.

However you choose to participate, thank you for helping make the #goodshepherdlutheranchurch #ELCA message of love visible in #northwestarkansas by @goodshepherdnwa

A four-week #Pride Month sermon series begins tomorrow. Scripture is the focus—not as a weapon to be used against people, but as a witness to God's love, liberation, and faithfulness.

If you've ever wondered whether the Bible has good news for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them, you're invited. Come exactly as you are. You are loved here. by @goodshepherdnwa

June worship at GSLC will include a four-week Pride sermon series asking a question many LGBTQ+ people have carried for years: Does the church actually have good news for me?

Each week will focus on a different part of the Christian faith—Scripture, tradition, reason, and experience—while engaging with difficult texts, the church’s long history of change and reform, what we know about being human, and the testimonies people carry about God’s presence in their own lives.

Lots of young people feel curious about the Bible while also feeling uneasy about the ways it gets used in culture and politics. So this summer, GSLC is trying an experiment: a “Religionless Bible Study” for teens.

Meeting Wednesdays from 6:00–7:30 p.m. beginning June 10th at Good Shepherd, the group will approach the Bible as a text worth understanding because it shapes literature, music, movies, language, history, and public life—and because it helps to know how to respond when scripture gets used (or misused) around or against you.

Curious, skeptical, religious, nonreligious, questioning, or somewhere in-between, your teen and their friends are invited.

❌ Not welcome: using the Bible study as a space to condemn LGBTQ people or debate their dignity and belonging. by @goodshepherdnwa

At noon on Good Friday, GSLC will gather for The Seven Last Words of Christ, a devotion centering Jesus' final sayings from the cross. Each word is read in turn, followed by a brief meditation offered by GSLC members, the assembly receiving what is spoken from the cross among us. A hymn and prayer follow each word.

Be part of Good Friday worship as your schedule allows—during a lunch break, for a portion of the service, or because the day has been set aside by an employer for religious observance. by @goodshepherdnwa

Night Prayer, or Compline, invites acknowledgment of both the gifts and the shortcomings of each day and commends ourselves and the whole world into God’s hands as night falls. Beginning this Wednesday evening through Lent, GSLC will host Compline at 7:30 p.m. All welcome.

Peace is my parting gift to you, my own peace, such as the world cannot give. Set your troubled hearts at rest, and banish your fears. (John 14.27) by @goodshepherdnwa

Each week at GSLC includes a range of regular gatherings.

Worship anchors the week, alongside the Adult Forum, which will focus on the Nicene Creed in the new year. Monday Morning Crew begins with donuts and conversation before turning to light campus work, while the Gaming Group brings people together around games on Monday evenings. Meeting weekly on Tuesdays, Recovery Dharma is a peer-led recovery group grounded in meditation and mutual support. And on Wednesdays, Open Doors offers a particularly LGBTQ+-affirming space for unstructured time together, with youth, young adults, and caregivers among those who regularly participate.

There may be something here for you! Consider this an open invitation without expectation of weekly participation. by @goodshepherdnwa
