🌊 GOODWILL KEYSTONE COSTUME CONTEST WEEK 1: THE ODYSSEY! ⚔️

What an epic journey! Our store teams set sail with The Odyssey this week, and every costume was built from items found right on their own Goodwill Keystone racks.

🏆 WINNER: Elizabethville! This crew brought the whole legend to life, with kings and warriors, gods and goddesses in flower crowns, and a wise old wanderer with his staff. Congratulations to our Goodwill Store & Donation Center Elizabethville team!

👏 RUNNERS-UP: Our Kendig Square team brought a sea king, a warrior, and sirens straight out of the deep, and our Phoenixville team sent in a battle-ready hero and a bow-wielding queen worthy of Ithaca!
Congrats to all of our store teams who joined the adventure! 🏛️

$45 Halloween Challenge: COMPLETE 🎃
(fine — $45.57. I went 57 cents over budget and I’m taking it from the Christmas fund 😏)

My entire Halloween dining room — the $10 zombie head in a globe, the $3.19 ghost in a cloche, the 🕷️ candelabra — all from @goodwillkeystonearea ! Proof you don’t need a big budget for a killer Halloween 💀

Now, the real monster in the room 👻: I know Goodwill gets a bad rap online, so let’s clear it up. Every region has its OWN Goodwill — they’re independent so you have to do your own research about YOUR region. Mine, Goodwill Keystone Area, is a nonprofit where the money stays right here in our community, funding job training and career programs that help our neighbors get hired and move up. That’s not a monster. That’s a neighbor. 🤎

This Halloween, don’t let the myths spook you — come hunt with me at Goodwill Keystone Area store.

What’s the BEST thing you’ve ever found at Goodwill? I want to hear it 👇

It's been a few GOOD weeks in our local communities! 💛

We had a blast at West Chester University's Sustainability Showcase - our sustainability basketball game was a slam dunk!

A big thank you to Newtown Grant HOA for hosting a One Stop Drop donation event, and to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for having us at their Donation Drive Fundraiser.

Community support helps your neighbors thrive. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make these events happen!

PA State Senator Dawn Keefer visited our Lemoyne store this week to see Goodwill Keystone donated goods retail in action! We took her behind the scenes for a look at our operation, and she even found a couple of treasures along the way. 💙

Thank you, @senatorkeefer for taking the time to learn more about how we support the communities we serve!
