Talk about an AMAZINGLY perfect night out (after almost 21 months of mostly "indoor time."). It was a thrill to have the opportunity to view the work of @zakfoster.quilts at the Madison Public LIbrary's gallery showing of "Southern White Amnesia!" And, especially, to meet the kind and brilliant human who created and spoke so eloquently about his work. His powerful creative response to discovering that his family line included slaveholders has kept my head spinning, and though I'm not a quilter, I intend to resume my long-latent collage practice and can't wait to adapt Zak's fabulous book, "The World Needs Your Next Quilt" to my purposes. Thank you to Zak, The Bubbler, and the Wisconsin Book Festivel for this truly memorable event! taken in Madison Public Library by @goofine
