For most of his career, GV General Partner Anthony Philippakis has been following the genome wherever it leads.

Today, that journey takes a new turn with the launch of Arboretum, a GV-incubated precision medicine company Anthony has wanted to build for nearly 15 years. Arboretum is bringing together AI, genetic testing, and clinical data to help make precision medicine a reality for common diseases. The goal is to improve care for patients today while developing more targeted therapies for the people most likely to benefit from them tomorrow.

As Anthony shares, “We want patients to live longer, better lives with more effective therapies.”

Congratulations to GV portfolio companies EpiBiologics and Pelage Pharmaceuticals on being named to Fierce Biotech’s 2026 Fierce 15.

🔬 Pelage is developing regenerative medicines designed to address the underlying biology of hair loss.

🧬 EpiBiologics is advancing a new approach to targeted protein degradation to tackle disease-driving proteins that have historically been difficult to drug.

We’re excited to see both teams recognized for the ambitious science they’re pursuing and the progress they’re making toward new medicines for patients.
