My first student has been accepted to IFM BA 💫

Already accepted by a fashion school in the UK, and now heading to Antwerp for interviews. 👏 It’s been great to watch her growth over the last 5 months of intensive portfolio mentoring. Proud of the work she has put in and excited to see what’s next.

I’ll continue offering a limited number of fashion portfolio mentoring sessions for students applying to fashion schools as well as every fashion related projects.

이미 영국 패션스쿨 한 곳에 합격했고, 현재는 앤트워프 인터뷰를 앞두고 있습니다. 약 5개월 동안 집중 튜터링을 통해 포트폴리오를 함께 준비했는데, 그 과정에서 보여준 성장과 노력이 좋은 결과로 이어진 것 같아 기분이 좋네요.

Romantic Army PFW 23

The collection of “Romantic Army” is articulating a spectrum of masculine romance I have, such as defensive, careful and sensible love by shaping emotional figures and colors. I was especially inspired by John-Louis Corby who distorts and deconstructs human body forms to create intriguing sculptures. I felt connected to his works that are demonstrating how much pressure I’ve been under from the relationship with particular male community in Korea when they are mostly full of being aggressive, violent, and patriarchal. Then, I brought a representative character of military army that usually is needed for a primitive masculinity.

I mainly used silk organza and Korean traditional mesh fabrics together as double layered to make a shape strong but also transparent. I intentionally avoid to fill with heavy or stiff materials inside of the garment for a natural stand. And, I created my own romantic camouflage pattern prints I painted myself, which was inspired by William Morris and Monet. Finally, I builded a new universe of army in which valued for romance, peace, and purity.

Romantic Army Fall 23

It was a magical moment to see how my boys are walking into the stage. Such a long journey to arrive this destination from the day I was about running out of the fashion. Even if this could be just a small piece of happenings in my life, I definitely made a dream come true. First to thank you God, and many thanks to my all - family, friends, peers, and love. There are still many things to do and finish, but I will be fully enjoying this moment and emotion. Love you all 😍.

Special Edition GUKI SS27 Fur Elise Film.
Music by Dami @damdameee , who composed <<New Elise>> exclusively for the collection.

The film carries the subtitle The Summer That Stayed, a reflection on the memories of boyhood that continue to live within us.

Through music and moving image, I wanted to capture a kind of masculine innocence that feels increasingly rare today—friendship, brotherhood, quiet loyalty, and the tenderness shared between men without the need for words.

New Elise is not simply a serenade dedicated to someone. It is an ode to a purity we once possessed but gradually forgot—a hymn to the innocence that still remains beneath adulthood.

GUKI SS27 [Fur Elise] is not only about a person or love. It is more about longing — for beauty, elegance, desire, and a certain world I wanted to belong to.

I began my journey in New York, where taught me freedom, expression, confidence, and the beauty of wearability. It was direct, energetic, and unapologetically commercial.

Paris introduced me to the restraint, quiet elegance, craftsmanship, and the idea that beauty can speak softly.

The collection is born from the meeting of these two worlds.

A collection where Western ease meets elegance, where tailoring carries the spirit of movement, and where romance can exist within everyday clothing.
