Teeth & Other Soft Things

I used to have these big canines as a kid.
I remember standing in front of the mirror,
flashing them to myself—AAAARRRGHHH.
Looking sharp. Dangerous.

Over the years though, I ground them down in my sleep,
chewing on invisible rocks.
For some time, I even wore one of those tooth-protecting things.
But that didn’t help.
So I lost my ability to rip into flesh.
And with the ability, the hunger also vanished.

And now I'm here,
sucking on the wooden bars of my life,
listening to the same songs over and over again,
paying my taxes,
dreading the future.

And I fear there’s no way back.
That I’m not a shark.
That I can’t gnaw myself out of this one.
That I really overdid it this time.
That I finally dug myself a hole too deep to climb out of.

But I don’t know—
when you’re a nail, everything looks like a hammer.

So I’m just sitting & waiting.

And sometimes I think about my grandma,
who still ate apples and carrots

ONE WEEK LEFT! next friday (16.6.) we're playingone of our favorite venues in the whole wide world. Get your tickets for our hometown show together with @mandthespanks @molotowclub now! THIS MIGHT BE YOUR LAST CHANCE TO SEE US LIVE FOR QUITE SOME TIME... somebody needs to write their second album... at least thats what I heard.
