Cold temps don’t have to mean cold muscles 🥶💪

Summit County Ambassador @jiann1tt0’s tip for getting outside as the temps start to drop: take a few minutes to warm up before you head out.

A quick, active warm-up gets your blood flowing, heart rate up, and muscles moving so you’re ready to run, hike, bike, or whatever adventure is on the agenda.

Try 15–20 seconds of each:
⚡ Double-leg pogos
⚡ Butt kicks
⚡ Jump squats
⚡ Single-leg hops
⚡ Side-to-side hops

Just a few minutes can help shake off the stiffness, warm you up, and make that first step into the cold a whole lot easier.

Save this one for your next fall adventure 🍂

Trail running vest 101 🏃‍♀️💨

Summit County Lead Ambassador Liz loves her Salomon Adv Skin 5, and she’s breaking down what that “5” actually means.

💡 Running vests are measured in liters based on their total storage capacity — think pockets, pouches, and the main compartment.

Liz’s advice: A 5L vest is a great option for runs around 5 miles or less, with enough room to carry about 1L of water plus your trail essentials.

Save this one for the next time you’re shopping for a trail running vest!

Planning an off-trail adventure? Summit County Ambassador @jillianardrey shares some useful @caltopo tips and tricks for route planning 🗺️📍

#outdoorwomen #womenathletes #womensupportingwomen #womeninspiringwomen #womenempoweringwomen

Choose Your Base Layer 🗺️

Don’t stop at the default Topo map! For off-trail planning, Imagery and Sentinel Weekly are two of the most useful base layers to know.

Check the Slope ⛰️

Turn on Slope Angle Shading over the Topo map to quickly see how steep the terrain is along your potential route.

Find the Best Line 🧭

Look for the least-steep path between terrain features. Avoid colored areas when possible – especially purple, which marks the steepest terrain. Then map out your best route.

Get a Real-World View 👀

Switch off Slope Angle Shading and change your base layer to Imagery. Zoom in and ask: Does my planned route actually look passable?

Check Current Conditions ❄️

Use Sentinel Weekly to check recent conditions along your route. (Pro subscription required.) Spot snow in steep sections and decide whether to reroute or pack the right gear. taken in Colorado by @gorerangegravityalliance

Mountain bike tool check 🔧🚵‍♀️

Eagle County Ambassador @abzbike’s philosophy: carry it, know how to use it, and hope you never need it 😜

Her trailside essentials are all about being prepared for the most common bike mishaps – without hauling an entire bike shop up the mountain:

🔧 Multi-tool + chain tool
💨 CO₂ + inflator
🛞 Tire plugs + spare tube
🧰 Tire lever
🪢 Zip ties + duct tape
🧤 Gloves + small trash bag
💵 A few dollars for snacks (or an emergency tire boot)
🔋 Spare battery for electronic shifting
🔩 Valve core, quick links + a few tiny repair essentials

Abbee even carries quick links that don’t fit her bike, because being prepared also means being able to help another rider avoid a long hike-a-bike home 💪🏻

Fellow trail MacGyvers: what’s the one tool or spare you never ride without? 👇

What’s Eagle County Ambassador @mama_suzy_snowflake’s favorite thing about mountain town living? ⛰️

Having adventure right outside her door! Whether she’s running, riding, spinning, hiking, or skiing (all forms welcome 🎿), there’s always a way to get outside within minutes.

“When I moved back, I decided I was going to live IN the mountains—and it’s been a fantastic experience.”

We couldn’t agree more 👏🏻

Another week of Ladies’ Ride & Run meetups, another reminder of just how great this community is 🫶

Last week, we teamed up with @cripplecreekbackcountry for two awesome meetups in Silverthorne and Edwards, complete with plenty of miles, après, and good company.

And we have an extra reason to celebrate our friends at CCBC – HUGE congrats to @manassehfrass of Cripple Creek Backcountry, for taking home the amateur women’s win at the Leadville Trail 100 MTB! 100 miles at altitude is no small feat, and we’re so stoked to cheer her on 🚵‍♀️🔥

Special shoutout to our Summit gals who got rained out again but didn’t let a little weather stop the fun. They still showed up for après to yap, connect, and build community – because sometimes the social miles count too 💛

Checkout next week’s meetups below 👇🏻

Last night, I had the opportunity to represent Aprisent Financial Group at Gravity Haus, partnering with Gore Range Gravity Alliance for “Own Your Future: Planning a Lifetime of Adventure.” I’ve had the privilege of working with this community in the past, and it’s always meaningful to return and share financial education in a way that feels practical, approachable, and relevant to the lives people want to build.

We were so grateful for the turnout, the thoughtful conversation, and the women who showed up ready to invest in their confidence and their future. I am so fortunate to be creating space for women to talk openly about money, goals, independence, and the life they want to build.

We partner with Gore Range Gravity Alliance because we genuinely love this community and the work they do to bring people together, and we’re incredibly grateful that we get to continue working alongside them.
Helping women feel more confident and empowered when it comes to their financial futures is such an important part of my mission.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their perspective, asked questions, and made the evening what it was. Here’s to owning your future, and having the financial confidence to pursue a lifetime of adventure. taken in Gravity Haus by @gorerangegravityalliance
