My girl said, “She’s busy…but she got you.”
And that hit for me.

My girl said it so casually she probably doesn’t even remember saying it.

“She’s busy…but she got you.”
And for whatever reason, that thing sat with me.
Not because she called me busy. Everybody knows I’m busy.
And honestly for me it’s not a badge of honor. I’ll save this for another chapter.

“But she got you.”
I didn’t know if this was a compliment or was this me accepting more pressure.

Because there was a time in my life when I measured my value by what I hadn’t accomplished.
How much I should charge for my service?
How many projects I completed and didn’t.
How many people didn’t like me because I didn’t know I didn’t like me.
How many goals I checked off the imposter list.
But somewhere along the way, I started paying attention to something else.

I was actually making motion. I was so high strung between how my upbringing effected my decision making, and this constant voice in my head saying you’re going to be the one. The one of the ones to stir and break the curse. I fought to get out of my comfort zone, I broke and began the healing process. And this was another way of God reminding me, that the more you pass these test, the more he reveals his promise.

And maybe that’s why it hit me so hard.

Anita Baker in the background. The good aluminum foil on the counter. Somebody yelling, “Stay out that kitchen!” Your cousins pulling up, the grown folks talking trash over spades, and somebody’s daddy is already asleep before dessert.

You deserve to be in the pictures, at the table, and in on the jokes. You deserve to enjoy your company without thinking about what’s still in the oven or how long you’ve been on your feet.

Let Gorgeous Gourmet handle the cooking. You bring the people, the playlist, and the stretchy pants. We’ll bring the food worth gathering around. 🍽️✨

Hosting up to 50 guests? Options serving up to 50 guests are listed on our website and available for purchase.

In the beginning many think a business should be so polished, that you play 1 role. That’s not happening. Everyone’s role is subject to change, and everyone does everything UNLESS it goes against your religious beliefs or ethics.

At Headquarters we do 3 things well COOK, WORK & LAUGH 😂🤣😂 And laughter has been the best ingredient for our recipes!!! Just know if you here “TURN THE FIRE DOWN” it’s @_gorgeousgourmet 😩😩😆😆
