I’m sharing these photographs not to count the awards or celebrate achievements, but simply because they brought back some of the happiest memories of my journey.

Looking at them again, I remember the excitement, the uncertainty, the long hours, the quiet moments behind the camera, and the joy of seeing my photographs travel further than I ever imagined.

Each recognition and publication became a small milestone, but what remains most precious is the feeling of those moments—the people I met, the stories I witnessed, and the memories I created along the way.

Today, I look back with a grateful heart. Some photographs are more than images; they are little windows into a time when I was simply happy to photograph, to explore, and to keep telling stories.

Perhaps that is why these memories still mean so much to me. They remind me not only of where my work reached, but of who I was when I began the journey.

My work has received recognition through the Wiki Loves Folklore 2026 – South Asia Regional Prize and selection among the Top 30 finalists of Leica Street Photo 2026, following an international submission process involving photographers from around the world.

Earlier achievements include being the Sigma Grand Contest 2021 – Street Category Winner, recognition at the Indian Photo Festival Photographer of the Year 2022, and receiving a Remarkable Artwork recognition at the Siena International Photo Awards 2020. In 2015, I was also selected as a HIPA finalist, with my work featured in the HIPA gallery.

My photographs have been published in internationally recognised books and platforms, including the National Geographic Your Shot Book, World Street Photography Book, Street Photography India: 100 Untold Stories, and the Urban International Contest Book. Earlier in my journey, I was also named a State Winner in the Tamron Photography Contest in 2014.

These recognitions and publications represent different stages of my photographic journey and reflect my continued exploration of street, documentary, and cultural photography, with a focus on observing and documenting everyday human stories.

I am incredibly happy and honored to share that I have been selected as a **Winner in an international Wikimedia photography award representing South Asia** for my work.

This recognition is a deeply meaningful moment in my photography journey. Every photograph carries a story, and being recognized on an international platform motivates me to continue documenting people, culture, heritage, and everyday life through my lens.

Between the Sacred and the Streets

Through My Lens, I Lived

For the last few years, my Durga Puja series has been my way of capturing the soul of Bengal.

I didn’t just photograph the grandeur of the festival—the pandals, the lights, the idols, or the celebrations. I tried to capture every little moment that made Puja feel alive: the laughter, the devotion, the crowded streets, the quiet emotions, the tired faces, the endless joy, and the beautiful chaos of our city.

Every frame became a piece of my life.

But this year, I have had to stop photographing. I no longer have a camera in my hands, and without it, I feel like I’m missing something much deeper than photography.

I’m missing the way I used to see life.

I’m missing those walks through the city with a camera on my shoulder, searching for stories hidden in ordinary faces and extraordinary moments.

Maybe I wasn’t just capturing Durga Puja all these years.

Maybe Durga Puja was capturing a part of me.

And without my camera, the city still celebrates, the drums still play, the lights still glow—but somehow, I feel like I’m standing outside my own story, watching life pass by.

I miss my camera.
I miss my frames.
Most of all, I miss the person I became behind the lens.
