What an amazing treat to finally see and meet @gordonderv of The Equals. He is an absolute rock & roll treasure that is still with us. 79 years young and living his best life. A beautiful soul. 💜 Thank you @i_get_so_excited @sowhatofficial and @interview_boogaloo for bringing him back to the masses. He deserves only the best! Stand up and be counted. 🎶 🎼🎵 by @gorilla_got_me

Circa 1987! Catacomb photo unearthed! Pulling my Rikk Agnew/Siouxsie Sioux/late Discharge 🤣/Andy McCoy of Hanoi Rocks - gypsy fashion phase! Ha! This was the day after my 16th birthday and taken in the bathroom of The Paradise at Guns N’ Roses, the first time they played Boston. My pen pal in California had been telling me all about them the year before and made me a cassette of Live Like A Suicide. I bought the AFD record when it first came came out. Still have original LP with the Robert Williams artwork, which goes for a pretty penny now. Izzy was always my favorite and I remember thinking it was cool he left the band when they started to get big and shitty and go down hill fast (yes, some say they were always shit! 🤣). I admired how Izzy wanted to stay under the radar and out of the spotlight. His solo records are really good. Very Keith Richards X-Pensive Winos/Stones/Faces vibe. I just CAN be happy today! A very special night for me to say goodbye for now to a band that means so much to me. The constant soundtrack throughout my life. I have loved them since I was 15 and all their musical journeys and styles of rock n’ roll. So many concerts and meetings over the years. I couldn’t help myself and actually started to cry when talking to Dave. I didn’t want to let go of him. Proves how special and emotional music is and does for us in life. Thank you to The Damned and all the joy and cherished memories you have brought to me @thedamnedofficial 🖤🩶🖤🩶 I know @gossipcollar @jon_bipbopboom @theshowcaseshowdownband will all agree 🩶 Rat Scabies @rat_scabies and Paul Gray @thatdamnedbass - best fucking back bone rhythm section 🥁 🎸Great to see you Bry! @dalenixon666 Best of luck with the rest of the tour! Love ya lads to the moon and back! by @gorilla_got_me

GGM today at 4:00pm coming to you with sadness and salvation. So many losses lately in R&R, it’s hard to keep up these days. Paying respects to a few of them, including a dear friend of mine for over 30 years - Barbara Cohen O’Brien. A regular at The Rat, a massive supporter of local Boston bands, a heart full of gold, dancing maniac, infectious smile, fiercely loyal to her friends, an absolute beautiful soul 🕊️💫 🙏🏼 🩵 Today’s show is dedicated to her. On a lighter note to cheer things up - The Konks playing as ZZ Top at The Abbey in photos should bring a smile! 🤠 WMBR.ORG or 88.1fm 🦍🦍🦍 📻 📻 by @gorilla_got_me
