Allegheny State Park 2026
Just us and our pups.

We used to come every year in the fall with our girls from the age of five-Ish to their mid teens. Then life just sort of got busy. This will be back in our annual schedule.

There’s something about being in the forest. Disconnecting from the world. The lush Wood were full of green moss and ferns. The foliage just starting to change to autumn colors. The temperature perfect enough to wear a T-shirt.

This was the first camping experience for our pups that are with us today. Our first family dogs used to come on every camping trip with us, so we decided to let some of them stay here at thunder rocks, together as like they used to be.

At 9:38 am, 22 years ago, you came into this world.

You officially made us a family of four and your big sister gained a best friend for life.

Keep being you…strong, independent, witty, thoughtful and beautiful inside and out.

We are so proud of you and your accomplishments thus far and know you’ll continue to leave your mark in this world.

Not only are you co-owning and operating a business, you officially became a homeowner recently.

That’s a significant achievement at your age.

So today is your day to sit back, reflect and enjoy you. And all things that bring you joy.

MY MOM. The first person who ever loved me. The person who never gave up on me. The person who is always there for me.

From football games in my youth, to conversations in the woods, to warm home cooked meals, to sitting next to her getting her a pedicure here today at Alicia Montalvo’s Rejuvinex spa, she has been here for me.

Here’s to you my Ma, and here’s to all the mamas of all ages, may you be forever here for your sons and daughters and may your sons and daughters realize the sacrifices and love that you have provided them.

On this random Friday, let’s hear it for all the mama bears who have made, and are still making a difference in their families lives.
