Iarthar Chorcaí Abú! 🔵🌿

We’re genuinely proud to be featured in this amazing new West Cork video by @discoverireland.ie and @pure_cork and we’re in such fine company too.

It’s great to see the familiar faces of our friends like Maria from @atlanticseakayaking paddling her kayak here in Castle Haven and Suzanne from @kinsalefoodtours doing what she does best in Kinsale alongside so many other brilliant local operators flying the flag for this special part of Co Cork.

Our Gormú Swim Experiences, Gormú Hiking Tours and Gormú eBike Tours all feature and the footage captures them beautifully in places like Toe Head and Céim na nGáir.

Huge credit to @islander.ie and @buamarketing.ie for doing the place justice - it looks wild, alive, and so full of story.

GRMA to everyone involved!!

I genuinely had no idea Ireland had a history of sweat houses until I experienced this guided heat and water ritual with @gormu.ar in West Cork

Inspired by the old Irish tradition of the Tigh Allais, the team at Gormú has created something really special that feels deeply connected to the landscape and its history

From drinking fresh water at a holy well, to moving between the Atlantic and the Puball Allais, breathing in essential oils, listening to local folklore, and experiencing one of the most incredible sauna rituals I’ve ever done, every part of it felt so thoughtfully put together

If you’re looking for unique things to do in West Cork, this is one I can’t recommend enough - it was unreaall

Our whole group left absolutely buzzing

Had you ever heard of Ireland’s ancient sweat houses before?

📍 Droichead An Poll Gorm

There’s something magical about crossing over Poll Gorm on a sunny winters afternoon. Maybe it’s the colours, maybe it’s the fact that it’s November and we don’t expect days like this but winter time in West Cork can give exceptional days for outdoor activities.

Oíche Shamhna / Halloween article in @natgeotravel featuring the Bean Sí and Gormú
We’re honoured that @chloeberge choose to include us in this piece 🤩

📍Beann a’ tSídheáin lit. “peak of the fairy mound” on the Toe Head peninsula as his backdrop.

Arguably Ireland’s most famous Bean Sí is Clíodhna and she is very much associated with Glandore Harbour.
Here she is portrayed by one of our cast members Emma at our A SCARE AT SAMHAIN experience this week. by @gormu.ecoadventures

Lá idir dhá shíon ag Tráigh na Móna ☘️🤠

A lovely group from Texas taking a well-earned break with Celine’s famous oat cookies at Tráigh na Móna during their Gaelic Grandeur adventure with us earlier this week.

Our signature tour is a full day of West Cork with eBikes, wild coastline, great local food @hayesbarandkitchen , hiking, stories, dúchas, our puball allais heat ritual and plenty of craic along the way.

Some days at work are fairly hard to beat. 💙

AN DEIS DHEIREANACH! 👻 Even the Dagda can’t keep them on their feet! 😂

Today Sunday at 2pm is our FINAL performance of A SCARE AT SAMHAIN for 2026!

One last chance to meet An Daghda, the bean sí, the púca, the cailleach and discuss the Cóiste Bodhar and other creatures from the darker corners of our West Cork folklore.

It’s been a mighty few weeks here @leap.scarecrowfestival , but all good things must come to an end.

Last call for Samhain 2026!

I’ve loved a good scary story since I was a kid and sent a neighbourhood friend running home in tears with a tale about a witch. So, it was a delight to investigate banshee folklore, Ireland’s supernatural death messenger, for @natgeotravel on my recent trip there. Stories of the banshee turned out to be much more fascinating than scary, elucidating Irish attitudes toward death, family, and gender throughout the centuries.

The tradition was passed along through the custom of scoraíocht, when people would walk to neighbouring homes at night and swap local lore and news. Although this happens less often in a world of instant updates, seanchaithe, traditional Irish storytellers, are helping keep the myth alive. Have a spooky(ish) read at the link in my bio 👻 by @gormu.ecoadventures

Spooky scarecrows, village charm, great food and plenty of craic. 🎃🍂
The Leap Scarecrow Festival is one of our favourite autumn days out in Cork.

Nach iontach iad!
Give our guests a little moss, ivy and a few handfuls of dried grasses and look what happens! Some brilliant creations have been emerging from our Mascallacht mask-making workshop here in Leap every afternoon @leap.scarecrowfestival

This one deserves a moment of its own. There’s a fair chance the púca would step aside if he met this lad coming down a bóithrín!

One of our favourite parts of this years A Scare at Samhain is seeing what everyone makes with the same materials. A bit of imagination, a bit of messing, and suddenly there’s a whole new character looking back at you.

Míle buíochas to our wonderfully creative guests!
