We stopped at Disco Chicken during our day exploring Rockford, Illinois, and the food was SO good!

Located in downtown Rockford, this colorful restaurant serves up delicious chicken, loaded tots, and plenty of comfort food favorites. And trust me, don’t skip the tots! 🤤

One of the coolest features is their rooftop dining area with views of downtown Rockford! We ate inside, but the rooftop is such a fun option when the weather is nice.

Whether you’re visiting Rockford for a family day trip or looking for a new restaurant to try, add this spot to your list!

BFA NATIONALS 2027 IS HEADED BACK TO ROCKFORD FOR ANOTHER EPIC YEAR 😤😤

Next year, we are proud to team up again with @gorockford to bring the world of girls & women’s baseball to Rockford for the 12th annual BFA Nationals: the largest girls’ baseball tournament in the country.
•
During the same week, the @wbsc Women’s Baseball World Cup will also be taking place in Rockford, and our teams will get to see the top women’s baseball players from countries like the US, Japan, and Australia compete for the title.
•
Plus, select teams will get to play at top-notch fields like Beyer Stadium — home of the original Rockford Peaches from the @aagpbl_official — and other newly remodeled fields throughout the city.
•
Girls ages 6-18 are invited to come and play at BFA Nationals 2027. Registration for all teams opens on November 1.

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS HAS ONE OF THE COOLEST CHILDREN’S MUSEUMS! 🤯🔬hosted

If you’re looking for a fun family day trip from Chicago or the surrounding suburbs, Discovery Center Museum in Rockford, Illinois NEEDS to be on your list!

We’ve visited before, and there’s a reason we keep coming back. This place is MASSIVE, packed with hands-on exhibits that make learning fun, and there’s seriously SO much for kids to explore!

Here’s just some of what you’ll find:

🔬 HANDS-ON SCIENCE: Interactive experiments and exhibits that encourage kids to explore, test, and discover!

🔨 BUILDING & ENGINEERING: Opportunities to create, construct, and figure out how things work.

🌿 OUTDOOR DISCOVERY: An incredible outdoor play area with gardens, nature exploration, and more room for kids to play!

🧗 CLIMBING & ACTIVE PLAY: A huge multi-level climbing structure and physical challenges that get kids moving.

👶 BABY SPOT: A dedicated play space designed for the museum’s youngest visitors.

💦 WATER PLAY: Interactive water activities that are always a favorite with my girls!

🛒 IMAGINATIVE PLAY: Pretend grocery shopping and other activities that let kids use their creativity.

What I especially love about Discovery Center Museum is that it’s not just for one age group. There are activities for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-aged kids, making it a great destination for families with children of different ages.

And because there is SO much to explore, I’d recommend setting aside several hours for your visit. You could easily make this the main attraction of a family day trip to Rockford!
