Back in Bellevue last night for Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council’s monthly Creative Hive, hosted in partnership with Bellevue Forward at Lincoln Avenue Brewery.

Creative Hive brings together artists, creatives, arts educators, culture bearers and arts administrators from across the region to build relationships and strengthen connections across the sector.

Stepping into my first few months as Vice Chair of GPAC, this feels like a new extension of the arts and culture work I’ve been part of throughout my time in Pittsburgh. It is also good to see how Bellevue’s arts scene continues to grow, much of it through community-led efforts.

We heard about work happening across the region, including Brett Walsh of Hullett Properties sharing more about the affordable artist residences at 800 Penn Avenue, and got a first look at a new community mural that will soon be installed in Bellevue.

🎨 There are units available at 800 Penn if you are an artist looking for housing in the city. I’m happy to make the connection if you are interested 🖼️

RJ, you are doing meaningful work in a borough that has long been ready to take center stage as a place to live, work, play, learn, and thrive. Proud of you 👏🏽

Join us next month in Braddock at @pearlartsmovement 🐝
