At the core of any creative process is collaboration. Either directly or indirectly. My work is inspired by many of my friends and creative people I admire. Sometimes even simple everyday life.

Before every project, I spend days, weeks, even months crafting little details. It’s always good to craft your ideas but as a documentarian at heart I think the best of work unfolds naturally in front of us without much interference — Cinéma vérité.

However I thought this could also inspire someone’s next project. And somehow I could indirectly collaborate with you.

So If you’d want me to share my creative deck for this project with you, comment “collaborate” and I’ll DM the link. by @gospellifestyle

Production Dump 🗑️

For me this project is so close to my heart because I’ve been a fan of @georgethepoet since I was in high school. A true full-circle moment I’ll always be graceful for.

Before filmmaking my creative journey begin with spoken word poetry for 5 years. I’ve always tagged myself as poetic filmmaker, I never thought I’d be directing the same poets I grew up watching.

Slide 2 - Self reflection 🫶🏽
Slide 3 - Peak clear skinnn!!! + Vibes w/ @georgethepoet
Slide 4 & 5 - God always give me the best clients and team fr fr
Slide 6 - I cringe when I see myself directing
Slide 7 - Legendary DOP @apagstudios . Apag has mentored me in my early years of filmmaking so working with him was such an honor.
Slide 8-10 - Coffee x Work… Toronto made me a coffee lover
Slide 11 - end - Toronto ✈️ Lusaka ✈️ London taken in Global by @gospellifestyle

Shifting the Power - Comic Relief x BBC x UK Gov (FCDO)

This project was shot across 4 countries - UK, Ghana, Zambia & Malawi.

“Shifting the power” was a film meant to commemorate a larger project the UK government had been working on with Comic Relief to distribute power back to marginalized communities by celebrating and amplifying the voices of change makers and partnered organizations running various transformative projects across Africa aiming at elevating its communities from harsh conditions.

It feature’s UK’s legendary spoken word artist, @georgethepoet as he collaborated with 3 amazing poets from each country to write a single piece.

Many thanks to all the wonderful, creative minds that came together to help produce this body of work. I couldn’t have done it without you all.

The enemy of art is not the one that said no to it, but the one that allowed it to die as an idea.

A friend of mine recently fell in love with filmmaking and the way she talks about it every day makes me wonder at what point people start to lose their steam. It’s been about 7 years now and for the first half of it, I couldn’t go a day without picking up my camera or editing something.

As creatives sometimes we get lost in monetizing our passion. Every project that didn’t get greenlit cost us a piece of our creative power. So why not do it for yourself? Re-empower your creative mind. What’s stopping us from creating all the shots that didn’t make it off the moodboard? When you couldn’t afford a camera you made do with anything you could lay your hands on. When you couldn’t afford a team, you made do with your friends. When you couldn’t afford the time you cut your sleep short. “The enemy of art is the absence of limitations” — Orson Welles by @gospellifestyle

Excited to share my first work piece in 2024 for @google . Exploring the exciting work they’re doing with AI in Ghana and Africa at large. Full video on my website. Link in bio

Many thanks to @nanawerekobrobby and @tishaakatitch for trusting me with this vision of her first production in Ghana and allowing me to infuse my own creative workflow.

And the star @aperrynelson working with you was such a breeze.

The music for me is the bedrock of this piece. Masterminded by @louispascal___ it travels between time and genre, nothing like I’ve done before for any of my productions. LP always understands the assignment right from the first draft.

And partner 4lyf @boama_official 🤝🏾 taken in Google by @gospellifestyle

It could have only been the hand of God to have done this without a personal website.
