WE DID IT. 🌎🌊

The world’s largest beach cleanup.

A WORLD RECORD. But honestly… the record is only part of the story.

What happened here was thousands of people showing up with one shared belief: that when we come together, we can leave this place better than we found it.

From the first bag picked up to the last piece of trash hauled away, this was COMMUNITY. This was MUSIC. This was ENERGY. This was LOVE FOR THE PLANET. 🌴♻️

And to everyone who showed up, got their hands dirty, danced, laughed, picked up trash, brought their friends, shared the message, donated their time, and believed in what we were building…

Official submission for the World’s Largest Beach Cleanup 🏅

To every person who volunteered, picked up a piece of trash, weighed a bucket, sorted debris, checked someone in, handed out supplies, hauled 6k Ibs of water, moved equipment, documented the day, shared the event, brought a friend, or simply showed up: thank you.

We saw just under 1000 people come through our site yesterday and picked up over 500lbs of trash stretching from the Venice pier up to Rose Ave.

It’s truly an unexplainable feeling to see Los Angeles show up for the ocean like this and something we’ll never forget. 💙

Meet your coastal science go-to’s. 🐬💋 We’re so excited to be partnering with @7seascollective for the World’s Largest Beach Cleanup on September 19.

Picking up trash is important. Understanding what we’re picking up and what it tells us about the health of our coastline is how we take it a step further.

7 Seas Collective is a women-founded LA nonprofit making coastal citizen science and science communication accessible, inclusive and actually fun.

On the sand, they’ll be helping us sort the trash we collect, capture data on what we find, and talk about how pollution impacts our coastline and marine ecosystems. They’ll also be our go-to crew for your coastal health, trash + ocean questions throughout the day.

On the beach, they’re running their signature “Wear One, Share One” activation — every participant gets a Love Button pin to wear and a second to share with someone else, keeping the love going long after we leave the sand.
