SHE SAID YES. 💍❤️

On September 7th, I got down on one knee, on a skating rink, surrounded by our friends and family, and asked Hope to spend the rest of her life with me.

And there couldn’t have been a more perfect place to do it.

If you know Hope, you know skating is HER element. 🛼 It’s where she’s happiest, where she’s completely herself, and I knew if I was going to ask her one of the biggest questions of our lives, I wanted to do it in a place that felt like HER.

September 7th wasn’t random either. It marked three years since Hope and I officially started living together.

Three years ago, this woman took a huge leap of faith. She left her hometown of Detroit, packed up her life, moved to New York and chose to build a life with me.

I’ve never taken that for granted.

Since then, she’s stood beside me through crazy work schedules, businesses, big dreams, a house full of dogs and all the chaos that comes with our life. 😂🐾

And speaking of dogs… part of the reason September 7th worked was because, for once, WE DIDN’T HAVE THAT MANY DOGS. 😂 So we could actually escape and have a night with the people we love.

The last week and a half made this moment more emotional after losing my dad. He knew this was coming and wanted to be part of it. I wish he could’ve physically been there, but I also knew he wouldn’t want me putting love or life on hold.

So September 7th stayed September 7th.

And on that rink, I asked the woman who once took a chance, left Detroit and moved to New York for me, to take one more journey with me…

Forever.

Hope, you chose me and the life we were building three years ago.

Now it’s my turn to promise I’ll keep choosing you for the rest of mine.

My best friend. My partner. My FIANCÉE. 💍❤️🛼

And like you’ve always said…

“Don’t be afraid to fall in love.”

Well, I fell.

And this time, I didn’t even need the skates. ❤️
