lost my dad earlier this week and the world kept spinning. i feel as if im in the center of a timelapse. everything just on go and im trying to reverse time or hold still to figure things out no matter how broad the writing on the wall was for me. don’t think ive completely processed it yet but that’ll be different after the viewing with the entire family. i feel as emotionless as the Ai voices giving me condolences over the phone from insurance companies, or the funeral directors asking if i’m ok. of course im not. i could write a ton of sad shit but idk if this post is about that. nor the time since there’s a lot of stuff to take care of. i want to thank everyone who’s reached out with condolences and sweet offerings but i think i needed the solitude for a bit. something i haven’t gotten in months which i am not used to. this post isn’t really about my dad, his bday is coming up ill save it for that. nor is it about me or my sadness. might be sort of a step forward into a reality i’m forced to live. i guess im just showing what life can bring. i’ve seen the beauty of it, ive felt its joy and experienced love and grief. lost my brother a few years ago and it def didn’t prepare me for this. nothing ever does no matter how inevitable death is. i still think of my brother every second of every day and this just adds insult to injury but i find light and comfort hoping theyre together again. this mini season was difficult for many reasons. didn’t have the entire usual squad but we still did our usual thing. 1 year since i last dove, 1 year since i last saw mike. i was mostly at the helm but when i did swim, my mind did race. lots and lots of memories during this time of year. i’m grateful for all them. grateful for my dawgs. mini season won’t be the same, but you better believe we’ll still slay for ya. it’s what we do. taken in Miami, Florida by @gotheog

@thedapperrapper appreciation post. should’ve posted this yesterday on your bday but why not have an extra day of showing extra love for my dawg. you’re one of the smartest beings i know and i love that you’re not afraid of shit, especially telling me how it is. i remember asking my dad every weekend to scoop you so we can fish together and im beyond happy you got the itch back. i’m about to put you on, BELIEVE THAT. i’ve always admired the bond our fathers have and i’m grateful you and i have always been so close, no matter the distance. i just wanna say i’m proud of you my guy, i love you and honored i get to be called your cousin. even tho we’ve always been like brothers. 👊🏽 by @gotheog
