🌞 Waste not want not. 🌞

After the long weekend, we had a bit of leftovers, did you? All this fresh fruit is too good (and costly) to toss, but there’s just too much to eat before it over ripens, so I flash freeze it on a parchment lined baking sheet over night. (I usually try to do just a single layer, but this time I just made the layer even and it was fine)
The next day the frozen fruit is put in reusable vacuum sealed freezer bags (any good freezer bag will do) and then back in the freezer bins for fruit.
Label the freezer door with a dry erase marker (so I don’t have to open it to see what I have in there). And now that summer is upon us, we have 2-serving smoothie packs of fresh fruit!
(I also label the outside of the extra fridge/freezer)

I also made “banana tea with eggs shells” to use in the garden. All the peels and eggs shells put into a jar, boiling water over all, then lid on for 3-4 days—then next watering day this tea will give some of my plants, veggies, and flowers a boost of nutrients that otherwise would have gone in the trash. 🌺🌸🌼 by @gottabesmee

Merry Christmas to everyone!

If you know me, you know I love Christmas! The trees, driving around to see all the lights, baking special treats, giving gifts, and seeing all the family together! My wish for us all is that in all the excitement and hubbub we also remember our Savior; the reason we put up lights, give gifts, and gather. Merry Christmas everyone! by @gottabesmee

When you follow @amauryguichon you are amazed at his fully edible creations. When you watch Netflix.com/schoolofchocolate you are pleased by his gentle encouraging and teaching*- so much so it inspires you to attempt one of the skills he demonstrates. This one: #sugardome

Kate and I decided we wanted to master them, so I purchased necessary tools and began practicing. My first day was a learning curve with only a 25% success rate. Day two Kate joined me and at the end she and I working together resulted in a 75-80% success rate! Humidity, temperature, timing, patience, laughter, and fresh tight garden gloves (yes! -they helped us hold the pastry ring more efficiently!) all proved to be precise ingredients!
All in all we made about 2.5 dozen successful domes! Humidity and gravity took a lot of our work- but we are confident now, and it was so fun learning how to make these tiny little pretties to elevate a simple lemon bar!

*If you are like I am, and enjoy certain reality shows, but loathe watching *professionals* set up a difficult challenge only to offer snide comments and glares without any additional information, then you will LOVE watching #SchoolOfChocolate on Netflix. Chef Amaury @amauryguichon and his staff are incredibly attentive, friendly, and encouraging to each contestant. If you fail your challenge, instead of derision and expulsion you are invited to one on one chats with the chef followed by personal one on one teaching. This is *the* show to watch! by @gottabesmee

Elder Timothy Paul Brown

I couldn’t be happier or more pleased with my grandson. Today he begins his 2years serving as a representative of his Savior, inviting all to come unto Jesus Christ. His parents, family, friends, and teachers have helped prepare him build a relationship with Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Tim has spent the last four years in particular studying the life of Jesus Christ and building his dependence upon the Godhead.

Many happy tears (and a few sad/missing tears) were she’d yesterday as we bid him farewell and sent him away to help gather God’s children.
I can testify that his mission is just the beginning! Heavenly Father loves all of us and invites all of us to learn more of Him and His Son, Jesus. I am incredibly proud of this sweet man. I know he will serve with all the love and support from his family here on earth, and also those in heaven. 💝💝💝

2020 hadn’t stopped Christmas from coming... it came, somehow or other it came! ...it came without ribbons, it came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags! Christmas doesn’t come from a store -maybe, Christmas perhaps, means a little bit more.
