🎙 Maya Angelou is the first Woman ever featured on a US coin.

Poet, Singer, Dancer, Actress, Screen Writer, Activist and Scholar Maya Angelou is being celebrated for her pioneer contribution to American History. She was best known for her poetic expression and her autobiographical writing styles.
_________
In 1969, Angelou published “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings”, an autobiography of her early life. Her tale of personal strength amid childhood trauma and racism resonated with readers and was nominated for the National Book Award. -Complex
__________
The U.S. Mint says it has started shipping its first batch of coins in its American Women Quarters Program. In a statement, Ventris C. Gibson—the Deputy Director of the U.S. Mint—said “Each 2022 quarter is designed to reflect the breadth and depth of accomplishments being celebrated throughout this historic coin program. Maya Angelou, featured on the reverse of this first coin in the series, used words to inspire and uplift.” The tails side of the coin (designed by Emily Damstra and sculpted by Craig A. Campbell) illustrates Angelou with her arms in an uplifted position. A bird is seen behind her along with a rising sun meant to be symbolic of both Angelou’s work as a poet and “the way she lived.” by @gourmet_foreplay

🎙 BREAKING NEWS‼️

A mass shooting at Oxford High-School in Detroit has been reported. Three students have been found dead with many injured. The FBI is currently checking the school to make sure all personnel have been evacuated dead or alive.

Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted on all charges after killing two men at a BLM protest. Today a 15yr old sophomore shot up a high school in DT.

With that being said, is the issue with gun control or White Privilege? 🤔

🎙Although three white men were found guilty of murder and other charges on Wednesday for the pursuit and fatal shooting of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old unarmed Black man, what we can’t believe is how the prosecutor tried to paint him to the jury🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏾.
—
She said, quote “in his khaki shorts, with no socks, to cover his long dirty toenails.” (SWIPE TO HEAR IT YOURSELF)
——
The three defendants — Travis McMichael, 35; his father, Gregory McMichael, 65; and their neighbor William Bryan, 52 — face sentences of up to life in prison. The men have also been indicted on separate federal charges, including hate crimes and attempted kidnapping, and are expected to stand trial in February on those charges.

————

The verdict suggested that the jury agreed with prosecutors’ arguments that Mr. Arbery posed no imminent threat to the men and that the men had no reason to believe he had committed a crime, giving them no legal right to chase him through their suburban neighborhood. “You can’t start it and claim self-defense,” the lead prosecutor argued in her closing statements. “And they started this.”

———————

What are your thoughts on the direction of the case l? Was justice served! And what do you think about the words the defense attorney used to “describe” Ahmaud Arbery 🤔??? Comment below 👇🏽👇🏾! taken in Justice for Ahmaud Arbery - Information & documentation by @gourmet_foreplay

🎙 Wow this ended intense. Yesterday Danileigh and Da Baby were seen on live having a dispute which ended up in her having to leave his home.

___
If we remember correctly these two seemed to have been in a happy public “situationship” after the duo dropped a music video for “Levi High” back in the beginning of 2020. They conceived a child together and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this year.
______
Yesterday things seem to have gone left after he began exposing her and their business on social media. It was stated and seen that she would not leave his home resulting in his assistant calling the police to escort her out. They have both continuously shared their account all throughout the day.

We’ve seen some of your comments and post about this and we are all ears 👂 tonight on CLUBHOUSE.

We’re curious to know your thought? Did she over stay her welcome? Was he wrong? 🤷🏾 At this point are women even the “catch” anymore? Let’s hear it.

BE SURE TO TUNE IN TONIGHT AT 9PM.

🎙Ahmaud Arbery’s UPDATE:
__
As the defense team desperately searches for ways to tarnish Ahmaud’s character to protect the rights of his murderers this case has taken more turns than a Nascar driver.

___

In a tweet made by Civil Rights Lawyer Lee Merrit he gives us a glimpse of the images being painted in the courtroom.

“Duty & responsibility” is Travis McMicheal’s defense theme— emphasizing his training in the coast guard. Travis was a 34 year old man living with his mom. He is a violent, racist, sloth. Listening to his defense attempt to paint him as a man cloaked in honor is painful.

_______

As for “Black Pastors” no longer being allowed in the courtroom. The judge ruled in favor for anyone from the public being able to sit with the family as long as they are abiding by the rules of the courtroom.
But get this, REV. Al Sharpton calls for the entire clergy across Ecumenical lines to meet him Thursday outside the courthouse in Glynn County, Georgia.

Is he being petty? What are your thought?
