An extraordinary occurrence in the August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse was that it happened at sunset. So when the sun reappeared after totality, you can see the extremely rare phenomenon of a crescent moon shaped sunset.

Total solar eclipse. Viewed on August 12, 2026, 8:33pm, at the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Spain, on board the Enchanted Princess.

That's me, checking out my pair of certified glasses on the Lido deck before the solar eclipse begins. It blocks out 99.99% of light so I can see literally nothing. But I can now safely look directly at the sun.

The food on this cruise has been great. Clockwise, my indulgence includes minestrone soup, Caesar salad, prime rib, and opera cake.

The Cruisery is a trendy and vibrant brew pub that features an innovative menu. Our lunch today while at the Port of Santa Barbara includes fusion sliders, bang bang cauliflower, and neon Napoli flatbread. Every bite is absolutely delicious and delightful. Highly recommend.

The shrimp gyozas from Coal Harbor Bar and Bistro at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver are topped with plenty of scallions and fried garlic, and come with a tangy chili sauce.

The Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver is one of my most favorite pre-cruise hotels in the World. One of the services that I appreciate the most is that they will take your luggage from your room and deliver it downstairs to the cruise ship.
