18-SSB Allahabad
Selection Centre East, Prayagraj
Entry: NDA 1, 2026
I flunked my SSB, which is unfortunate because this was my first and last chance at NDA, given the age restrictions. But it's alright, I gave it my best shot and honestly I have no regrets, it was a beautiful experience that very frankly I never once in my life expected I'd get to live through. And I learned a lot along the way and it's evolved me into a better version of myself, I've met the most amazing people and had the most unique experiences, for which I am grateful.
This started off as a side quest because frankly I never once expected that I would make it past the written, but I did and as the days of preparation for the SSB went by, i'd started to covet the life of an Officer in the Indian Armed Forces.
But now it all seems out of reach. So, yes, this will hurt. And that's alright as well. I've learnt the lessons and I'll be moving on to the next target, because life isn't over yet. Perhaps I'll be back stronger and better than ever before.
In the Bhagavad Geeta, Shri Krishn told Arjun that he has a right to perform his duty, but he is not entitled to the fruits of his labor. And that's another lesson for me.
Lastly, as the legendary hero from the 1999 Kargil War, Captain Manoj Pandey said,
"Some goals are so worthy,
It's glorious even to fail."
May the gods give me strength and courage to always look for tougher battles, because the bigger the battle the greater the glory.
Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!
