Gracie greets people she saw five minutes ago like it's been a year. She dances. She jumps six feet in the air. I don't greet anyone like that before coffee. 😂

She doesn't wait to feel happy. She decides. Joy isn't luck. It's a choice. Stop waiting to feel like it.

Your turn: who gets your six-foot jump?

Go, Gracie, go.

My mother did this, and now I do too. Before my feet hit the floor, I whisper what I'm grateful for. First me. Then my people. Then everyone who crosses my path. Then the something bigger that holds all of it. Five minutes or less, and it changes the whole day. 🙏 What's first on YOUR list? I've had the same personal trainer for 20 years. She's never sent me a bill. 😂

That's @mgsalvadore, aka Mary the Motivator. We met at the gym. Now we walk, and Gracie runs the program. (Mostly sniffing.) Everybody needs a Mary. Find yours.

Your turn: who's your Mary? Tag them.

Go, Gracie, go.

This haircut required a tow truck. 🐾 My groomer's car went in a ditch, and she showed up anyway. Thank you, @rachel.grooming at @bubblybowwowri (and Poncho, who did not help). Your turn: who showed up for you when they didn't have to? Send this to a friend who always shows up for you. Too tired. Work is crazy. Everyone's appointments but mine. 🐾 I used every one of those for thirty years. Gracie has never accepted a single one. When did you last do something just for you? Send this to the friend who always says "not this week." I go first, so you know you can too. Macros. Protein. Collagen. Wrinkle cream. 10,000 steps. Gracie heard the whole list, sighed, and went back to sleep. 😂

I spent thirty years in marketing. I built those pitch decks. Good ones. Every good one starts with a pain point. The most profitable one? Convincing you you're not enough yet.

Gracie's not selling you anything. You're already enough. Act like it.

Your turn: what are you done being sold?

Go, Gracie, go.

Day two of my new career. My boss still hasn't given me a title. She did give me a walk. 😂

For thirty years, I made everyone else the star. I was very good at it. But I never built anything of my own.

Here's my why: I spent those years climbing. Turns out I rise higher lifting others. That's why I go first, so you know you can too. One person at a time.

Here's your permission slip. You never needed one.

Your turn: what would you start if you knew it wasn't too late?

Go, Gracie, go.

She came with a name. Ariel. From Ohio. One look at those blue eyes and I renamed her after the sun. She's been running the place ever since. 😂

Thirty years building billion-dollar brands for everyone else. The year she came home, I retired. Gracie did not get the memo. She has me out the door every morning before I've decided how I feel about the day.

Turns out that's the whole secret. You don't wait to feel like it. You clip on the leash and go.

Nobody was coming to hand me a second chapter. So I'm writing one. Out loud.

I go first, so you know you can too.

Your turn: what are you done waiting to feel ready for?

Go, Gracie, go.

Tomorrow I report to my new boss. Four legs. Zero meetings. Pays entirely in kisses. 😂

She's been preparing all week. Met with her publicist (a hydrant). Read the contract. Ate the contract. Practiced her serious face. Held it for two seconds.

She will not be sending reminders, so I will: Tuesday, 5:45 pm.

Nobody hands you a new life. You start one.

Your turn: what are you finally going to start?

Go, Gracie, go.
