Incredibly excited to announce our world premiere at the annual Oscar qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival @hollyshorts in Los Angeles!

The festival will take place August 13-23rd this year, Hosted at the historic @chinesetheatres in Hollywood. (more info will come)

Most of our team is Venezuelan, so this news arrives at a strange, complicated moment; it is a small ray of sun after some of the hardest weeks our community has faced after the devastating twin earthquake.

We want to share this happy news with everybody who has felt displaced and misunderstood. We see you. We raise our voices for you. This is what our film is about. 🇻🇪

Being Venezuelan in the US is complicated right now, and Alberta is unraveling. Stranded in Miami by flight cancellations, unable to secure a visa appointment, she feels lost and unseen. Seeking solace, she wanders into a Botanical Garden, only to encounter a wild opossum. Terrified at first, Alberta chooses empathy over fear, and a tender journey of connection and survival begins. by @gpsboutique

Amy joined a panel of incredible writers from The Women's List along with co-founder Jan Kimbrough for an interesting discussion on The Inside Pitch, where they spit some facts about the realities of being a woman in the industry and the importance of raising women's voices in screenwriting.

Coming Soon in 2026! We are so proud to present a sneak peek of a few of our short film projects.

2025 was a busy year filled with intrepid creativity , where these deeply rich and thoughtful shorts came to be. Their stories are filled with poignant curiosity, focusing on topics like immigration, family, belonging, connection, and understanding in a world that continues to grow more and more complicated.

These projects led to production boots on the ground on iconic sandy beaches, gorgeous botanical gardens, and NYC studios filled with our favorite people. We are so proud of these shorts and their tireless crews, and the directors who brought their stories to life:

I am so honored to announce that LANDFALL has been officially selected for the 2nd annual Women's List. This prestigious list showcases outstanding scripts written by women, selected and curated by a group of veteran female WGA writers, DGA directors and SAG actors in order to boost recognition for exceptional screenplays and TV pilots written by women.

There were only 14 feature scripts selected, and only 8 of them were dramas. I am so beyond thankful for LANDFALL to have made the list. Big congrats to all the other very talented writers on the list, and huge thank you endlessly to @thewomenslist for this incredible honor!

COMING SOON IN 2026: Alberta and the Possum

A film by Federica Arévalo

Synopsis: Being Venezuelan in the United States is a complicated and isolating thing to navigate right now, and Alberta is beyond stressed out: She’s stranded in Miami due to flight cancellations, she can’t secure her visa appointment, and she can’t help but feel lost and misunderstood. When a friend advises her to go outside and "connect with nature", Alberta finds herself mystically drawn to a Botanical Garden, but her stress and visa worries accompany her.

Suddenly, a frightening growl gets her attention: It's a wild opossum! Alberta is terrified; her instinct is to run away in fear. Instead of judging the scary rumors she’s heard about opossums, she chooses to listen to empathy, realizing it’s crying out for help. What ensues is a journey of connection and understanding, and the cosmic struggle of compassion that gently says: “I exist, even when the system would rather I didn’t, and I’m tender, strange, and alive. by @gpsboutique

We ❤️ the Giglio

Each July in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the Giglio Feast honors Saint Paulinus of Nola: over 100 men lift and carry a 72-foot-tall, flower-covered tower, called the Giglio, through the streets, accompanied by a brass band. Brought by Italian immigrants from Nola over a century ago, the tradition blends faith, pride, and pure Brooklyn character into one of the city’s most electric celebrations.
