What if Washington’s bike and outdoor communities were more connected?

Not just through likes, follows, and posts. But IRL!!

The people behind our outdoor industries are doing Solid work and need more places to connect!

And so do the people trying to find their way in.

That’s why we’re building The Link.
This idea has been simmering for a couple of years. Now, with @paulgiarratano on board, we’re bringing it to life through gatherings for people across Washington state's outdoor, bike, nonprofit, retail, advocacy, and recreation spaces.

A space where different backgrounds, voices, and experiences are not just welcomed, but needed.

A place to meet.
A place to share what we know.
A place to open doors for the next person.

The Link is still growing, but the mission is clear:

Create more space for Washington’s bike and outdoor communities to gather, share, connect, and open doors.

Snow before a spring ride? Naturally. On par for the PNW.

One thing I love about building BlackDawg Media is getting to share local stories like this. The weather is chaotic, the timing is ridiculous, and somehow spring still shows up right on cue. Next week in the 60Ss??!!

The 5th Annual #TourdeFleurs from @bikeworks206 is a pretty great excuse to get out there! All ages, alleycat style, and full of local riding energy!

Because in Seattle, waiting for perfect weather is a great way to never ride….Go Ride!

I thought I'd try to capture the Northern Lights. Another first in my photography adventrues. As well as another photography lesson, amongst many. Keep a spare set of glasses in camera bag at all times is #1!!
Hoping for the best in settings without my glasses, this is what I was able to capture on June 1st, Alki Beach around 2am.
A bit out of focus and working in manual mode. I couldn't see anything with the naked eye. I was trying to capture a ferry crusing across the sound into Seattle. It wasn't until I reviewed the photo in the display that I saw the "disturbance" in the background. I was about to pack it up! It's been fun pushing beyond what I know on the camera. Keep pushing & Keep Learning!

Spent some time in the woods with friends. Thanks to Nick for his expertise on astrophotography. Not to his quality just yet, but I’ve been wanting to try astrophotography. My little ‘ol ASPC didn’t do half bad, along with the limited lens. I also know that it’s the person behind it who plays a part in the settings, so I had a learning curve. I’m also not ready at this time for a DSLR. For now, I’m happy with what I have. I am also very grateful to friends who take the time to show me something new. I was hesitant because it isn’t something I usually take photos of. I’ll definitely be adventuring more into the dark to hone this skill. What have you done that’s new? In the meantime, check out

I find myself drawn to the quiet interaction between light and shadow. There's something about these in-between spaces that feels so human. The person lost in their phone, the pop of red against all that concrete. For me, street photography is really just collecting these small, honest moments.

Did you know #seattle has 2 Space Needles that are the same, but completely different?

1st photo - The one we all know and love.
2nd photo - You can find this one reflecting off the MoPop building across the street. The things I learn...
