time flies like an arrow, and fruit flies like a banana

WOW i’m gonna miss the world famous jungle cruise sosososososo much!! i have dreamt of being a skipper on the jungle cruise since i was a little kid, and finally being able to do that has been absolutely insane!! from telling the guests i was gonna sacrifice them on a daily basis to ragebaiting children with the elephant memory joke to simply just messing with people and getting paid to do it, this job has genuinely been one of the most fulfilling things i have ever done. these past 10 months have truly felt like 10-12 minutes, and i will miss every second of it. to my fellow skips, you guys are crazy (i was crazy once!) and i will genuinely miss all of you oh so much, but guys always remember! that way you never forget.

madame president signing off🫡

if i told myself four years ago that improv would change my life for the better, past me would have never believed it. in highschool, i was told that i was a bad improviser because i “messed up a scene” due to unforeseen circumstances. since then, i was determined to become a better improviser. even though i was hesitant, i came to this club to meet more people in college and quickly realized how special, yet terrifying, improv is. i was always so scared to go up for a scene, but i still attempted everyday to put myself out there. cut to four years later, and i am so eternally grateful that i kept trying, even if i knew i would fail. having to leave something that has become such a huge part of my everyday life is so deeply heartbreaking i can’t even put it into words.

i owe many things to what improvlsu has taught me. improv has made me a better actor, leader, and person. i have seen this club at its lowest and highest points, but one thing will always remain the same, improv is special because of the people. these improvisers are some of the most talented, incredible, fun-loving, and kind people i have ever met, and i have formed many lifelong friendships because our shared love of improv brought us together. it truly is so special to see everyone’s passion for improv ignite when 4:30 hits on tuesday-thursday in 135 (or 399 iykyk).

thank you to everyone who trusted me to lead this club for the past year. it has been the honor of a lifetime, and i have learned so much from watching the club and its members grow. being the president is something i never expected to happen, but being the FIRST female president of the club is INSANE to me. thank you to every single person who has shown up to this club for teaching me what it means to be an improviser. improv is truly one of the greatest forms of art in the world, and it has served as the best form of expression anyone could ever imagine.

oh my god (gun)!

this show was so special and exhilarating to be a part of. this has been one of the most fulfilling productions I’ve ever been a part of, and i got to do it with all of my incredibly talented friends! if you have ever done a scene with me, i want to thank you for allowing my love of improv to thrive. to adam, thanks for always believing in us and cultivating a place where we could grow everyday. you are such an inspiration and i want to follow in your footsteps. thank you sophia for writing this incredible script and allowing us to perform it! you are a genius and you have always inspired me. to ore, you were our fearless, and fun-less, leader. i wouldn’t do four hours of one word story for anyone, and that’s saying something. you are such a intentional and smart director, and i’m so glad we got to work together. to the cast and crew, you guys are some of the most passionate and hard-working people i have ever met. i am so glad we got to experience this process together, and i’m so glad we all got so close. it was an honor of a lifetime to play jean, and i will never forget this experience!! 🫶🏻🔫📰🚨 by @grace_laurent
